Aether acquisition

I'm starting to think that it might not be based of level, but time.
For instance Aglaia is level 90, and take less than 20 minutes, but Nier (Tower of Paradigms Breach) is level 80 but take over 40 minutes. Aglaia give about 550, but Nier give 999.
The completion time is pretty much twice as long for Nier even though it's a level 80 raid, and you're given almost twice as many points (i'm guessing it's capped at 999, if you exclude the daily bonus).
And because Normal Raids & Trials usually can be completed in less than 10 min, they award you with less points, meaning you'll max out High-level Dungeons & Alliance Raids quicker since you have to do fewer runs.

Without the daily bonus.

Trials and Normal Raids gave me 700 ish. They were Rathalos and M3.

Brayflox HM gave me around 650ish, despite wiping to trash which increased the time spent.

This is because the bonus from Trials and NR are disproportionately high, I got 614 out of my bonus for both Trials and Raids, but only 376 bonus for High level roulettes, the goal seem to be that you get *about* 500-700 out of your daily, no matter which instance you get.

That explains why:

great hunt lasted 3 mins (729)
m3 lasted 6 mins (780)
brayflox HM lasted 11 minutes but gave least (654)

The exact values you get from a roulette is printed in chat the moment the last boss dies so you can actually check how much was the instance and how much was the bonus, it can get somewhat buried, especially in Alliance, but you can always check to make sure.

I think it's based on average completion time which they probably have some idea of, hence why Chrysalis gives 134 units while shiva gives 64, and why extra time spent due to wiping doesn't increase the aether (imagine if everyone just agreed to AFK for a hour to get free aether).

It's not clear to me what SE had in mind regarding the daily bonus, but the base aether averaged out to 25-30 per minute in the instance. And anecdotally, that feels right to me given the non-bonus roulettes I ran last night: Alliance Raid runs awarded far more per run, but they also typically took much longer.

my alliance raid gave 593 while everything else gave 830-850. what?
