Nothing ever happens until it does actually happen. That lifetime supply of popcorn I won is really starting to pay off.

Im almost 100% sure that the thing will reappear again in same form or the other, what is interesting for me is how SE will react to that
if they decide to go further and shut down core of how everything works, that would affect playerbase a lot imho
