Hmmm not sure if anybody suggested this yet but wouldn't Chocobo racing be an awesome way to make some extra gil instead of quests? You could either race your own Chocobo or place bets on other characters racing.

I really really hope I can be the jockey on my own Chocobos in FFXIV.
