Raining 2.0 text

I've watched the 2.0 demo a thousand times, like most of you have by now, and I just have to say how hideous the text is. It's way too WoWish and less FF; it doesn't fit the beautiful style of 2.0. One does not need falling text reminding us of what happened to our character 15 seconds ago:

Whatever happened to "Miss!"? That's a more classic FF feel and look imo.

Would be nice to see the text look more like this (note the party list has colored hp and mp bars):

Yeah you can turn off text but what good is that while playing an MMO? And I know there are add-ons coming but I really hope I don't have to go fishing for those and just use what SE has already made for us instead.

I think you mean what you don't want or need. Anyhow, ui is configurable, and you can already turn on-screen messagges off

On screen scrolling text is always good and very informative. I'm sure you will have the option to filter or turn off what you see. Also don't forget there will be addons eventually that i'm sure you will be able to change the design of the text with.

Scrolling combat text is MUCH more helpful than the shitty battle-log. And seriously, complaining that it says "Dodge" instead of "Miss". Wtf man, I need to stop coming to these forums... I'm overwhelmed by the idiocy.

Yeah I think there has been a post from someone not liking something from every aspect of the short video by now.

Dodge and Miss both exist in the game... There's a difference between dodging due to agility and missing due to accuracy.

You don't like how the Dodge indicator moves? This is so minor I don't even... how picky can you get? Either way, like others have said, the UI is fully customizeable. Turn it off if it bothers you so much.

Also, the text isn't ugly. it looks fine. christ, the grass thing wasn't even a valid complaint and this looks better than that.

On the thing about Miss and Dodge... I might not be sure since i'm not native to english but...

Dodge makes it somehow very obvious that was an enemy action against you. Miss makes me think of your action against the enemy.
So shouldn't both exist?
