Critical think

so I wanna know what do you think should be worked on or modified to make the game betteri speak about content mechanics of the game in itself. The bigger problem in short not the small thing.


for me it would be rather simple and it's Dawntrail story like nuke it and remake it I know the writers can do better and have the idea. Dawntrail as it stand right now is one of the worst story of the whole game there is moment where DT have good story bit but so far between that well it feel like a eternity to go thro.


Wuk Lamat in post Endwalker was better then the one in DT she absolutely doesn't feel like the same character at all not enough growth if not at all after all she doesn't even hesitate to kill her brother even her brother in the transition to phase to look at a ghost or whatever it is of his son and you see him hold back and hesitate!


like what the heck I am reading? I don't wanna be the main character at all but it felt wrong and poorly made. Majora's mask did better on that regard and it was made in a year time making it even more impressive so to me they don't have a excuse

The only thing i really wished would be harder classes i generally that every class has a unique idendity, not the shitshow they are currently.

thats really my only wish

well a other thing I also forgot OC for console and some low end PC seem to have massive framerate issues wish they could also work on that

They desperately need to focus on story and world building.
To me, DT went down the drain when I crossed that huge bridge, built by the giants of eld when they invaded the northern continent, only to find their mysterious doom. And what did I run into? The worst wild west scenario ever conveived. Cowboys duking it out the old fashioned way - with rubber bullets. Then a sci fi mega city, flying motorcycles, robot soldiers with laser guns, wrestling fights, and a copy pasta moon base that looks like they downloaded some cheap grafic set from the internet. What the hell were they smoking?

Move away from twitchy rote memorization and DDR encounter design to make room again for job and battle systems.
And make said battle systems actually interact again with encounter design like in a proper RPG. Right now we're just pressing buttons dealing damage while dancing frantically to the minstrel's tune.

Demonstrate they care about community

(I mean, I think I've been kidding myself. They make another instance like Chaotic, then they make REALLY sure casuals don't stand a chance of even getting in without involvement in a discord that only experienced hardcore players will be able to get approved to. I've been sitting here going, "what were they thinking?" I think they know 'exactly' what they were thinking. They were willfully caring only to seriously cater for high end. 'Every' indicator corroborates that but I just haven't wanted to think it. They will have known what that will continue to do to the community and gaming demographic. Not rational financial sense? Since when have people been rational?)

So now its come to providing compelling indicator otherwise.

• Deliver cross DC party finder. [care about stabilizing peoples communities]
• Fix the account privacy flaw. (rollback acceptable) [care about the interests of a vulnerable minority]
• seriously demonstrate that you accept that either you deliver real casual 'playable' content (not this press X to continue stuff in tribes, cosmic.), or if something has got to give it is the content for the minority not the majority (provided the minority credibly have the reasonable option to access and complete that content also), especially when it comes to new types of content. (not that casual is majority anymore) [give the casual community the intensive care needed to avoid driving the wedge any deeper]

But like I say, what we have seen goes beyond accidental oversight. To cast otherwise is a little delusional. So I'm now saying this to community and not to whoever in SE might take an interest. I'm actually happier believing it was deliberate. I can respect that more. Just wish they'd be more upfront about it so some of us can adjust quicker. "play other games" is too generic.

Agreed, this is my main complaint as far as combat content goes.
It's not hard to memorize but it sure is goddamn tedious.

These are all pretty solid things in their own right.

But to the be honest the heart of it for me is simple patch release schedule.. Like, obviously content is not developed overnight, but waiting a year into the release of an expansion to have some repeatable content is just not OK.

I know some games definitely have it worse, but for me it's one of those long-form versus short-form issues... Like some games I can go do content as old as this game itself, and still feel like there is some sense of actual progression there.

With this game that progression element is just completely lost because each patch may as well be effectively operating as a silo with how the content is released, and how the contents are structured.

I know there's valid reasons behind this, and unironically some decent reasons, e.g., catch-up mechanics, but then with how aggressive this is, it just comes at the expense of devaluing older content.

Second to this..... The game needs to feel like an MMO... It doesn't really feel like one, and there's a multitude of issues that go into this..

Tbf, the expac starts somewhat ok, it felt like they were aiming for a more light hearted approach compared to the emo show that EW was. But the moment you cross the bridge it’s just getting weird.

It reminded me of FF8 so much which I also hated for that specific reason where the game world loses all integrity towards the middle of the game, but for that game there’s at least a theory that the main character really died and everything after that point is a fever dream or illusion.
