New 2.0 Inventory Space

From what i see, there's 5x5 = 25 slots, and 5 tabs = 125 slots.

Currently we have 200 slots. Plus 2 retainers which has 150 spaces each.

So what's gonna happen with all items after transitions?

Unless there's a logical explanation, we might have serious problems with our inventory from what we see right now. I did remember somewhere that mentions having less space in 2.0. Never thought it would be that big. Having lost about almost half of space (or 3/8) would be problematic.

Any thoughts?

I vaguely remember them saying that crafting items (grass, logs, ores etc) would take up their own personal and infinitely spaced bag. I think that would alleviate a lot of issues.

Well it shows 4 bags from what I saw. The 5th pair of dots was for the character screen. Considering that a vast majority of gear seems to stay out of your inventory, I think the -100 or -75 inventory loss won't be that big.

FFXIV inventory started out at 100, than they increased to 200 because ppl have been having problems and always stated in 2.0 it would be taken back down to 100.

Gear in gear sets won't take up inventory space. The mannequin system or something like that.

I remember the dev team mentioning that any excessive items in your bag will be transferred to an NPC for you to pick up in 2.0. That was said a while ago and they may have a different way of doing this now, but I vaguely remember this being said.

It also says at the bottom of the window 12/100.

I was hoping they change their mind about that and let us keep the 200 we have now. I'm already full as it is.

ever since I got all DoW/DoM, I always have constant struggle with space. There's always some times wasted for me to manage it daily after craft/gather.

I know that i shouldn't compare, but I always enjoyed past FF series (excluding XI) that never deals with space issues. And looking @ current situation, I can't even freely progress my craft/gathers without needs to constant going back and forth dealing with spaces.

I really hope 2.0 have some best solution about this or it would be more nightmare to me. :p

There definitely needs to be storage. Part of the reason the inventory is such an issue is because we don't have a bank, or safe/locker to put it in.

I'm pretty sure this will be sorted with player housing though.

I really hope so. Or even better, having past FF series inventory system which make us never worries about spaces.

I know that this is big MMO and we have thousands and even more players. But if I ever compared to FF savegames, they never have issues of expanding size.

One of the things I hate the most from current inventory are materias. Why having 3-5 different slots for 1 tier materia for having 1 stat difference? It is pain in the ass and sometimes I just have to give up those constantly to make rooms. :(
