There appears to be a bit of confusion in the English version of Archive's dialogue where it is unclear if the civilization associated with The Abandoned Ascent in Occult Crescent was one of the twelve city-states of the Fifth Astral Era. German, French, and Japanese all seem to agree that it was included, as do the related English entries in the Occult Record, but the following dialogue from the quest "Past and Crescent" implies it was separate:
Perhaps it should be "other eleven city-states" instead, as seems to be the case in the French version?Quote:

Would it be okay to also use this thread for other Occult Crescent Localization issues too? Because Jeffroy's UI dialogue when entering the instance lists "Occult Crescent: south horn." It's the only instance of 'South Horn' being lowercase in the entire experience, seems like a pretty glaring typo to encounter daily.

It's not the name of a place, it's a description. The menu option is simply in sentence case. The localisation is very particular about capitalisation of things that aren't proper names when not in title case, you can also discover this by emoting at any character that has a name that is descriptive, for example.Quote:

I've no umbrage with "south horn" being lowercase in actual character spoken dialogue due to its descriptor of the crescent locale. Therefore, it'd visually look better to be "Occult Crescent: South Horn" for the menu in my opinion. Similar to how south horn is capitalized in the other menus, like the map.
Edit: It is also capitalized when leaving the duty instance, which further makes me believe it should be while entering it.

06-19-2025, 05:33 AMZero-ELECThe thing is when there's multiple options in a menu when speaking to an NPC (in "what would you like to say?"/"what would you like to do?" type things) the options tend to be sentences, which is the case here; your character is either journeying to the south horn, asking for more information, reviewing their own knowledge (opening the help menu), or reviewing their phantom jobs (opening the phantom job menu).Quote:

Regardless, I guess depending on which current of English language rules you follow, you might capitalise the first word after a colon, but I don't think that's the standard. From what I understand, American English can capitalise after the colon but does not tend to, while British and Commonwealth English does not do that, as a rule, unless it's a proper noun. Would you it look better/more appropriate if it it were written "Journey to the Occult Crescent's south horn." or "Journey to the Occult Crescent: South horn."? -
