Graphics Update in Occult Crescent & Am I playing it wrong?

I was lost to the beauty and how clear it became to me the Graphic update and the future of FFXIV. The old zones, even with Graphic updates, for some reason my eyes cannot notice a difference, as my eyes are used to seeing the area... I barely notice differences after so many years. Of course, I notice it is beautiful, but it is easily taken for granted/missed... this time, I was taken aback by the beauty of how the graphic update shows truly amazing high quality. I am very satisfied and I made very cute pictures in the zobes! I love it- very stunning, also textures, and I felt for a moment I was new player who is in awe. I missed the feeling. I am happy I could feel a little of "This feels new". Thank you for the hard work!

But my journey is a little bit up and down. I am familiar with the past relic zones.
But this feels a little... different, and I wonder if I play the game wrong.
I want to do the fates badly (not the critical but normal) at the same time.
I see a normal fate appear close by the Etheryte, so I quickly teleport to take part.
The current progress is 0% and I am excited... but halfway on my way it is over.
It was only few seconds I saw it was 0% Every zone is 72/72 people.
it is overly crowded but I am happy to see the game lively again.

I made it ONE time to the normal fate and I won a carrot!
I was excited to search for my treasure..
I was scared of monsters, but also in awe of the beautiful environment.
I was quickly back to reality as I was killed by a monster! I lost my pot（´；ω；｀）

I am now level 8... I cannot make it to a date... I have been all day trying.
I try to stand where a fate was, but it is not a good tactic of spending time.
Tomorrow, I hope I can at least have a chance to avenge my pot against monsters!

I wish this was not the case, but I must choose between "Blue" or "Pink" icon fate.
Both is not possible even when it is fresh on screen after completion of another.
I tried many ways. In Bozya even when the fate was underway, I could still participate.
It was divided of "high level" or "low level" and it was easy to observe.
This time, it shows up "one at a time" and there is many people.
Thank you for not making high-level enemies not very hostile, it makes adventure fun!
I like to see if I can survive a high level corner, while waiting for a "PING"

So my question:
Am I playing the game wrong? I have all teleports open and a visible map.
I am struggling to find fun things to do aside from Blue fate... which, it appears too
frequent and too quickly one after another. I do not know what I do wrong.
I wonder if the fates are too low HP for instance population?
