Follow up to yesterdays post. First, and quickly, I will just say to those people who said I don't know how to craft or like crafting, that you can understand and enjoy something and still be critical of it.
Let's start with the new dyes. I like them a lot. I purchased several of the neon green dyes and created an interesting new white mage glam for use in PVP. So, why mention dyes? Simply because I earned the credits and BOUGHT THEM!
Do I like gambling in video games? No. Will you ever remove it? No. I do believe that anyone who invests a great amount of time (and is paying to play) deserves better. Let's say there is a player, we'll call him John Doe. John sees the suit. It's the dream glam! John has loved mechs all his life. He wants both these badly. John crafts and gathers and grinds and grinds and grinds. After dozens of visits to the gambling wheel, John is no closer to these than when he started. Disheartened John quits and goes play something else.
Island Sanctuary got it right. You levelled up, and as you did more exclusive items became available. If you put the time and effort in, eventually you'll get what you want. That should apply here. I am not saying remove the gambling. Some enjoy that, a game of chance. However, allow those who want to save for something do it. In the end they know if they keep at it they'll get what they want. I'm not saying make it easy either. Maybe you have to accumulate millions of points across your jobs to unlock certain items. Make them expensive too. Maybe 100K Lunar Credits for the mount and suit or something? Give players a goal to aim for that is achievable. There will be players out there stuck in RNG hell, grinding for nothing, and I think that should be changed.
I think this content has potential, but needs tweaking, or I think it'll get old for many people really quickly. :cool:

Hate to break it to you but there's an exclusive RNG gambling mount (Island Peerifool Whistle) in Island Sanctuary too. Assuming that John Doe is adamant against using the marketplace they're gonna be peeved about that too.

On Shiva/EU the Vacuum Suit is up for 1.5M gil. Though I'm also not a friend of gambling, this price is laughable for a mount that's in game for 4 days.

The mount you refer to is crazy cheap on the marketboard. The more exclusive and better Adenium Mount can be got by collecting vouchers. You chose to miss the entire point of what I was saying and focus on one specific item. Well done you.

So the issue John Doe has isn't with gambling, it's the cost of an item.

RNG loot boxes have existed in pretty much every form of alternate leveling system thing they introduced.

Eureka, Bozja, Firmament, etc.

Prices for literally everything on the RNG wheel have dropped dramatically by the hour. Firmament also has the exact same thing with the kupo of fortune. Look at anything from that on the MB. It's all dirt cheap.
And as I said in another dumbass thread about this, just stop using the addiction wheel that has garbage on it and do the mech pilot wheel instead. I've gotten every. single. item. from the big bang RNG wheel, same as multiple friends of mine. It's gotten to the point already where I hope for dyes and get disappointed every time I roll the mount or the emote, because then I have to hop in and out of the content just to adjust prices on my retainers to sell that crap. But if that doesn't tickle your instant gratification fancy and if the garbage from the wheel is still too expensive for you, just wait another week and you'll get everything for 100k or less.

Man, I hate RNG myself, but you are making this into a much bigger problem than it is.
