I don't know if it's coded differently, but my final catch (under 30 secs) is uncounted for quest progress.
Example:
Absolute Specimen
I'll get 2/3 completed - my last fish will be one second past the timer, *poof* no score / not completed.
This has happened multiple times.
This is in contrast to say, Ocean Fishing, which gives you points as long as your rod is out.
