Besides VA of Wuk Lamat is in SAG-AFTRA, do we know any other English VA side with SAG-AFTRA?
Do you guys thinks the main reason why Wuk Lamat has minor role in 7.2 is because Wuk Lamat VA is on strike?

no, if she was on strike she wouldn't be in the patch at all
the reason wuk lamat has a minor role is because the devs are giving us some much needed breathing room from her, her role in 7,1 was also reduced.
i personally hope it stays this way for another 2 patches. i can tolerate her but i need a break from her for a while
None of this applies to Japan and Japanese voice actors.
Whatever is happening in an American union wouldn't affect the story writing in the first place, let alone a Japanese directed one.
IIRC, they did rewrite parts of Heavensward because of Yugiri's English VA's passing so it's not outside the realm of possibility. Even though the actual reason is likely that they are giving us a break from the character as mentioned.
As far as the strike goes, the vast majority of this game's English VAs are based in a UK studio and neither FFXIV nor Square Enix are on the strike list anyway.
honestly I don't follow much of the VA because will it isn't the best not the worst but could be better and not as a important character because well Wuk Lamat was well poorly developed in the expension feel wrong and absolutely deprived of logic. When I see Wuk Lamar I see a Mary Sue character not gonna lie I think it's also one of the reason she is taking a back seat to give us a break or they are tired of people complaining x)
I mean if you are in that company you only technically have access to 10% of the entire market because as part of the uninion you are only allowed to do VA for games/ publishers that are affiliated with it. Since 90% aren't well, DoorDash is a good pick for them, I guess.
There is also a strike happening with Genshin/Star Rail, but it's actually not a strike because Myhoyo was never associated with or in the union to be struck. So in short, it's pretty much just a refusal to work for a company they shouldn't have been working for in the first place, since it breaks their own terms.
On top of it, it was revealed that their individual contract (from myhoyo) has nothing specified that their VA will or can be used for AI training. For them to legally do that, they have to have a very specific phrase, which they don't. So.. yeah
The character is simply a poster-child for Dawntrail, and moving beyond DT wouldn't make sense for the story they built around that character.
For those that support the VA, I don't see this character going very far. It was a useful prop and nothing more to begin with.
