Suggestion: Looped face expressions

Hey everyone!

A lot of people don't like that their characters mouth changed for different reasons. One reason is the expression of smiling or not smiling anymore.

We already have looped emotes in this game. And some of them also come with a looped face-expression during the emote-loop. But for now we have no looped 'face-expression-only' emotes. All face expressions stop after some seconds.

I think it would be cool to add looped face expressions to the game. Like looped closed eyes (with or without a slight smile), different types of smile, 'look tiered', some kind of 'look seriously' or 'look angry', and much more, so that we could give our characters more identity through those expressions! :D

What do you think about it? If you like the idea please give a like to this post, as some kind of 'yes - I would like this to be implemented into the game' feedback for the devs. <3

I am a little surprised that nobody really seems to be interested in that. But so be it : )

We can already change our idle poses with /cpose, so being able to change a character's default expression seems like a natural addition. I don't think it would fix the graphics update faces, but I'm in favor of (almost) anything that would help our currently-lacking character customization, especially things related to emotes and animations.

This would be a great idea imho. I really like the smile and closed eye expression when we teleport/return, and it would be to be able to hold that, or other expressions.

Thanks for your feedback! I really think that it should not be too hard to implement for example some loop versions of already existing face expressions, for a start.
And it could help that characters don't look so expressionless in the areas where players come together e.g. Limsa. <3

I had this same idea before the graphical update changes to the eyes massively improved that vacant thousand yard stare everyone used to have. I'm pretty happy with things now but being able to choose a default expression could still be cool too if implemented well. Maybe they could have different "personalities" you could choose from instead of choosing a rote facial expression since it might be pretty weird to have someone just standing around with a permanent /ouch. lol

I'd really love this because there is a facial expression that I prefer on my character after the update so I'd really like to be able to make it permanent.
Deciding on your character's "mood"/facial expression is a good way to showcase your character's personality and would be a really welcome element for general immersion/player expression and for RP enjoyers in particular.

I just thought about looping face-expression emotes but your ideas for some type of switchable face expression similar to the standing poses is also very cool.

It could be also be nice if characters could get some different types of facial movement during idle. At the moment we all look a little bit stiff. P:

This would be cool to implement in some way. My character looks so mean all the time. I wish his expression was more serene or happy.

While I like the character rework, I ended up with a 'serious' expression.
Don't think I'd want a perma-grin or anything, but something a little less stern would be nice.

Probably not from the emotes selection, but a small selection of casual 'resting' expressions would be appreciated and go a long way in further diversifying our characters.
