If You Abandon Levequests Before Initiating, You Should Get That Leve Allowance Back

What it says on the tin. I'm working on a gathering levequest achievement and accidentally grabbed a couple of battle leves. RIP those 2 allowances. If we abandon Society quests, we get those daily allowances back and those are timed as well; we should definitely get leves back for quests we don't initiate. Forfeiting them on failure or abandoning after initiation I can understand, it's a penalty you take for not completing the objective. But before? Come on.

Since they already have the same functionality elsewhere in the game I suppose I only see one issue. Since levequests can be stocked up from day to day as opposed to society daily allowances, there's a possibility to overflow with accepting several leves, waiting for your dailies to refill, and abandoning to go over 100/100. Three possible ways to address this. 1) don't refund allowances beyond 100, 2) refunds only occur before bi-daily reset. It doesn't seem like a huge ask, but may be the reason it hasn't been implemented.

Either way, I support it.

They will never implement this change because SE doesn't care about this game.

They will probably "leve" it alone because it's an old fashioned system.

They should get rid of the daily allowances though. I don't understand the point. Did they just add these limits for the sake of it when throwing mud at the wall in ARR?

The allowances is a relic from 1.0 days, when they would purposely choke your leveling after a certain amount of exp bc they wanted to arbitrarily extend your playtime. It was such a big part of the marketing push that leveplates were cg animated in the 1.0 trailer.

The third was going to be allowing it to go over 100/100, but I thought that would never be implemented. I still put in three because I dumb.

When 2.0 first came out, Leves were relied upon to level your jobs, especially crafters and gatherers. The exp bump was rather large. They've given players so many ways to level DoH/L that leves really aren't needed. I'm actually surprised that they keep releasing DoH/L leves considering they canned DoW/M leves a few expansions ago.
