There's finally hope sirs
What hope? (No, really. I don't get it lol)
For years I've had the stance that healer gameplay was going to stay stagnant whilst Yoshida was in charge.
Whilst he's still in charge of this project (and I assume CBU3), he has at least been taken down a peg by the board it seems.
Small steps.
Wasn’t it a corporate restructuring?
I didn’t think it had anything to do with the skipping performance of 14
Did I miss anything? Searching around a bit there seems to be no news regards SQEX, except that the cafe will close soon-ish.
I don't think Yoshi P changing his corporate title means much if anything for the lack of healer gameplay moving in a better direction. I need to see more people get hired specifically for the development and growth of 14 before I start celebrating. I'm really.hoping we move back toward more active DPS kits for every healer next expansion.
Ah, but that's bad news for OP then, seeing how this just means Yoshi P focuses more on the game again. So if you dislike the direction, that's probably not good news for you?
(Plus Yoshi P has says in interviews that he disliked being a director, so that's probably more him stepping down than anything else)
I don't think anybody will really know what this means for us (or healers specifically, for that matter).
Personally to me, the best thing is to hope for some improvement (if any) at all after they realized how bad healers have crashed since ShB since this probably means Yoshi-P gets more time to actually play the game by himself. And that's me being overtly optimistic...
The other---arguably worst thing to happen (to my pessimism & paranoia), is to have SE finally get their way to enforce their odd fondness over 'AI/NFT-crafts' now that Yoshi-P is out of the board. After all, he was one of the more known figure to oppose such abomination in the game. This is unrelated in direct sense to healers design but would obviously impact the entire game in a way no one could predict (I'd say badly).
"Be careful on what you wish", I guess...
I think the only hope we'd have of getting something to change would be if people could somehow convince the devs to actually play Healer.
See if they think healers really are in an acceptable state when they're playing and spamming one spell through the MSQ, dungeons and trials. And doing DPS probably on the level of a Trust NPC with that spam.
