It was pretty good times indeed. Miss it too

I couldn't figure out why there were so many skills until I noticed that I wasn't playing FF around that time...would of been nice to experience this around that time period.

I did, it had interesting elements that were both fun and a curse, like being able to optimize your gear and get better stats like in pve, but at the expense of novices. You even had to earn pvp xp to unlock the pvp role actions of your role.
The whole toolkit was the pve toolkit, so obviously, it worked as best as you can imagine in a pvp setting.

At the Time i recorded those Videos FF 14's pvp required as much skill as any other MMO with PVP

Yeah, some stuff had extra effect i believe we can see a healing debuff being applied with dancing edge. Miss that animation i wish they brought it back
