Lost (removed?) Fate in Southern Thanalan

Hello Everyone,

I was an ARR player who quit prior to 3.1 and returned last year. I've been taking it slow to not burn myself out but finally made it to current back last fall.

So, I was reminiscing with my FC members and I recall a FATE? Special Fight? Quest Thing? in Southern Thanalan but I haven't seen it at all nor can I find it online.

It happened directly above the Byregot's Strike camp in the Sagolii Desert. You fought a special monster and when you were done it did a special marquee that wasn't a normal fight completion for FATE (similar to the collab splashes). I recall it acted like a fate but was different.

I for the life of me cannot find anything regarding this fight at all. No pages, no text, no videos. Am I just imagining this or does this actually exist?

It sounds like one of the FATEs for the FFXI event with Iroha.
