Things I would like to see in future expansions *Possible Spoilers ahead for 7.0*

As someone who has played the FFXIV on multiple characters, I play games for the story, There are some things I'd like to see added to future expansions of the game. Some terminology I will use, when I say Caster I am referring to Magical Ranged DPS, Melee is the Physical Melee as there is no Magical Melee, and Ranged is Physical Ranged. Tank and Healer should be self explanatory.

The first topic is jobs I'd like to see. I would like to see a Light themed and Dark themed job for each role. The only role that has both is tank, with Paladin and Dark Knight respectively. Light has a healer with White Mage and Dark has Black Mage and Reaper for Caster and Melee. The other jobs are for the most part Neutral. They may lean a direction but are Neutral all around. To add a new tank job with the Dark Healer, I actually propose one last joint leveling job like Scholar. It would be built as a stand alone level 30 job that shares leveling with Lancer. It's based on the Roman Phalanx, of a Spear and Shield user. I know they have said they won't do branching jobs, but Scholar really is it's own job, separate of Arcanist and Summoner. As someone who can't heal at all, Scholar still allows me to do the Healer role quests to get that part of the story. If someone can't tank or melee, but can do the other, it would give the same advantage. There are 2 other joint ones but these are just suggestions as I heard they are having trouble coming up with new weapons for jobs. The Dark Healer and Light Caster could be joint leveling jobs off of Thaumaturge and Conjurer respectively. These don't have to be the case, just one way these could be done.

There are some characters that I would like to see as well get added. First is a true Warrior of Darkness. Someone who actually uses Darkness as we use Light. They would be a Highlander Hyur to counterpart the Midlander WoL in the trailer, and to simplify things, and be the opposite of gender to our character. The default being the female as the Midlander WoL is male. A male version for those who play female characters. The next pair of characters I want to see are 2 "Guardians", one of Light and the other of Darkness. These 2 would be responsible for the continuation of the Warriors of Light, and the Warriors of Darkness. They would awaken the echo in them as well as bestow the Crystals of Light and Darkness to enhance their power. Both would have been created by Hydaelyn and based on 2 Ancients. The Guardian of Light would be based on Venat herself, while the one of Darkness would be based on Emet-Selch. They would act as guides to the heroes they empower. The last group I want to see is the rest of the counterparts to Ardbert's friends. Ysayle is the counterpart of Cylva, the female elf, but what about Brendan, Renda-Rae, Lamitt, and Naillebert?

This last part is just some miscellaneous stuff. First is some duty support stuff. It would be nice if you have a premade party only, to be able to fill in the gaps with the duty support characters. If I tank, my best friend uses Melee, and another friend uses Ranged, we could still use the Duty Support Healer. I understand this one may be harder to implement, it would help with wait times for the dungeons. As for the characters for Duty Support, Yoshi-P has said he might have an expansion where it's just us WoLs. Meaning all the Duty Support characters would be new. Well why not have us find an artifact of some kind that lets us summon our other 8 selves that been absorbed, like Ardbert. One of each race with half being male and the other half female. Two tanks, two healers, and 4 DPS of the 2 Melee and 2 ranged of either Physical or Magic. The jobs I would suggest use the jobs off of the ARR classes, minus Summoner.

When we go to the 11th shard, I would like to see the names be one giant Easter Egg to FFXI. Not have the 11th BE FFXI, just use the race and place names for the 11th's equivalents to the Source. It would still be an FFXIV world, just using the names from 11. The one exception being their Cid should have a counterpart and be a piece of our Cid. The last thing I'd like to see is old crossover events added as permanent side quests, IF the rewards have been put on the FFXIV store. The FFXIII crossover being the one that is there now. They could then add any other crossovers they wish to retire as well, but only if they plan to retire them.

I thought of another healer job idea. As healer right now is the only job type that doesn't have a sword wielder, something akin to Red Mage but for healing. Final Fantasy 13's Ra ager role uses moves that are elemental charged physical attacks that could be used as part of its repertoire, those being Thunderstrike, Firestone, and Blizzardstrike.
