Minor Moderation Policy Changes

I just recently got in trouble. I'm not here to dispute it, or to criticize anybody in specific over it. The GM who stole me away to Mordion Gaol was polite and willing enough to throw me some kind of bone as to what it was I did wrong. And that brings me to what I wanted to suggest. I apparantly harassed somebody, which was why I had gotten in trouble. But the GM asked if I wanted to ask anything while they were sorting my punishment out. I said what can basically be boiled down to "No, you guys won't give me any information about what it was I did exactly, even if I did ask." And they said "Well, what I CAN provide you is the incident the report took place over happened 4 days ago." And you know what? That's the most any GM has EVER provided me.

I can understand expectations to know you did something bad when you have done it. That's why I'm not here to dispute this. Because telling me it happened that long ago was more than enough to remind me what it was I'd gotten myself into that day. But that's what made me consider my suggestion here today, while I take my time out.

Could we PLEASE have some Policy updates? More often than not it truly does not help an rule offending player become better in the future if they are not told what it is exactly they did wrong. If I asked the GM that dealt with me for a specific quote of what it is I could've said, because my punishment had been for 'harassment', he would not have been able to provide me any information. Because of the policy. It's like throwing an individual into prison for violating a law and not showing them any proof. For most reasonable people we aren't going to realistically care enough to remember what we did 4 days ago that wasn't anything outstandingly bad or good.

So my suggestion is consider allowing more information to be provided when requested. It doesn't have to be everything and anything they ask for. But if they ask to know or for some kind of proof they did something, they should be allowed that much within reason. If that GM didn't tell me what I did wrong happened 4 days ago I wouldn't even have a clue what it was I did that got reported... I'm grateful he considered what he could provide me, because it helped me remember. But I could have at least been provided a specific comment, for example, from myself. Blizzard Entertainment provides this information when requested if you're ever punished. They'll never tell you who reported you, but they'll tell you what rule you violated, and if you ask, they will explain why. Digital Extremes, the producers of Warframe, will tell you what you did that violated any rules within their Terms of Service, if you ask. So again, consider changing policy to enable some more information be shared when requested. I understand it would require re-training the Moderation staff too. But it's not a massive overhauling of the policy either. Just one little detail that'd help reform your poorly behaved players. That's all.
