Monster sizes in 2.0?
For those who hasn't been playing since the start:
When the game came out, the controls and UI was so horrid (and still isn't the best out there) that monsters had to be resized to be 2 or 3 times bigger so players would be able to target them easier, but with ARR on the way and it promising a much better UI and enhanced battle system and targeting, I've been wondering if there is a possibility of monsters returning to their original sizes.
Examples:
Marmots/Rats were the size of actual rodents but were re-sized to be as big as Lalafells.
Skeletons were the size of average human beings and now they're bigger than Elezens. (If they were wider we could have said they were Roe skeletons but they're not.
No images of the above examples.
Puks:

Not as ridiculous as some of the things we have now, right?
Personally I prefer the old sizes.
what do you guys think?

I like the bigger sizes. It just feels more heroic to hit a mob my size or bigger rather than one I could fit in my hand.
I remember hitting one of those ladybug looking ones in Nanawa (I think) and being really shocked I got my butt kicked by a tiny bug :p

Giant marmots are a bit ridiculous yeah..

While it was a player-driven decision to make the mobs larger, they used the influence from Dalamud to explain their swift and dramatic physiological changes.
If the UI is so much better that it doesn't matter how small mobs are for targeting, then with Dalamud's influence being gone in ARR (I'm guessing?) mobs should be able to revert to their normal sizes.
The screenshots on the ARR website are kind of a mixed bag. The Coeurl looks freakin huge in comparison to the Hyur, but the Mandragoras look similarly proportional to their FFXI counterparts.

I like some of the bigger mobs, I can see so much more detail on them now than I could before, like the details on the elementals wings. Some though, like the toads, didn't need to be made bigger. They were already pretty huge.

The old size was better for gnats. They got carried away increasing the size of a lot of the monsters.

Liked the original sizes more

Roselings are damn scary now.

Marmots the same size as me? No problem there! Now I can look them straight in the eye before I kill them.

I've thought it over a bit, some of the mobs that were already pretty big are a bit too huge now. However I still think some of the smaller ones look better now.
