Portraits

How can I disable portraits completely in game?
I have never liked the portraits feature, and never use it at all.

Now, every time I change jobs, I keep getting a warning about instant portraits.
I looked it up, and followed the instructions to disable instant portraits for every single job, but it's apparently not working correctly, and I'm still getting the warning about being unable to have an instant portrait, every single time I change jobs.

I'm getting really fed up with the whole portraits system, which I have never liked or used in the first place.

So, how do I get rid of it completely, once and for all?

i also never cared for the portrait system

under portraits menu at the bottom you can enable "do not display previews when updating or changing gear"

also under character configuration disable "show party member portraits at start of duty" and "display portraits in the player commendation window"

that should prevent portraits from showing up again

Thank you, I appreciate the help! I also found that in addition to disabling the instant portrait for every job, I needed to click the "reset to default" on every job as well. Once I did that, it stopped the instant portrait error warning from popping up every time I changed jobs.
