Shield Smite for PvE PLEASE

For those unaware non-PvP-players, in 7.1, Paladin just got a new PvP ability replacing Shield Bash: Shield Smite.
It no longer stuns, but increases the damage taken by the targets by 10%.
Most importantly though, it is now also an AoE.
And while PvP is a different game, I really would like this to make it to PvE.
Even if you replace the effect to keep the stun we are used too, it would actually make it feel good to use in dungeon pulls and would make it a button that we would actually press in other scenario than some niche deep dungeon ones...
If White mage can spam AoE stun, having PLD be able to do it as well would not hurt either.
Although the problem with spamming it means they have to find a way to make it so that it is not a DPS loss, while also not making it overshadowing the base AoE combo completely. But I am sure they can figure something out for this.
So pleasee SE make it happen. And please make it happen in 7.2.
