Comfort Zone

It is a bit unclear to me how this ability works, as I always thought it ensured any progress loss during any of the next three steps as its description says:

Reduces loss of durability by 100% for the next three steps, but prevents great success for all types of synthesis.


But my boyfriend is experimenting a heavy loss of durability while still on Comfort Zone, and he got the explanation from a LS member that this occurs when the element goes chaotic.

So is the description not entirely accurate? Is it a bug? Is the LS member right?

You are having a small bit of a misunderstanding.
Comfort Zone does in fact prevents durability loss, however-
When your element destabilizes, however, it has a chance of growing chaotic and exploding, eating away a portion of your durability. That is an effect that replaces the standard crafting effect and is not affected by Comfort Zone. Is in fact the only effect that does so

Well actually, durability loss when the element goes chaotic may be something like -150%. However, Comfort Zone only covers you for 100%, so you will therefore lose some durability. Hope this clarifies things.
