[Suggestion] Make Vote Skip Option Available for Main Scenario Duty Roulettes

While I can understand not wanting to remove the option for people to watch MS cutscenes when entering via duty roulette, I've talked to a lot of other players and the general consensus we've all shared is that a vote to skip cutscenes would be a wonderful quality of life improvement for duty roulettes. Please consider adding this as an option - perhaps it can display when first joining the duty as a checkbox or something? Just a thought. :)

Won't happen. Mainly because that defeats the purpose and because the whole reason the exp reward is as high as it is for that roulette is to compensate for the time of the cutscenes. If they would give the option to skip the cutscenes, new players would still be pressured to skip them and ppl would not be incentivized to stay for new players, since so many ppl would either be using premade work arounds or they would just fish for a skip party and bail when they had to watch the cutscenes. Who is going to stay in Prae and watch the cs for the 10,000th time just for 1 person when they could get through the whole thing in under 10 minutes for the best exp payout of them all. The only way to make it work would be to heavily decrease the exp when the vote to skip succeeds which would make the whole thing a pointless endeavor.

Easy fix - allow the cutscene skip only on the condition that everyone in the party has already seen it once. Clearly the game knows which cutscenes you have seen, so it can't be that hard to implement. If the cutscenes are skipped, cut down the rewards, too. With the way things are currently, basically everyone I know of just doesn't do the roulette at all because they know Gaius's speech by memory at this point and no reward is worth the 35 minutes or so of utter boredom. There are other ways to get that amount of XP in that amount of time and they're much less boring.

With this "fix", you would still be rewarded relative to the amount of time spent in this roulette. If the reward relative to "35 minutes or so of utter boredom" isn't worth it to you, what makes you think a reward relative to 15 min or so of skippable cutscenes would be?

OP, I understand why you would make a suggestion for a QoL change like this, and it's a suggestion that has been made plenty of times ever since the cutscenes were made unskippable. The issue with a QoL change like this, is that it muddles the entire roulette, as opposed to the current iteration being perfectly clear on what you're getting yourself into. You know that going into it, you'll end up with one of three instances that have unskippable cutscenes, with exp/tomestone rewards relative to this increased amount of time spent. If this reward isn't worth your time spent (which I assume it isn't, otherwise you wouldn't be making this suggestion), it's fine to just skip the roulette entirely. You don't have to run every single roulette.

I think some of you may have missed the part where I said to simply provide the option to *vote* for a skip. If everyone votes to skip, then XP can be adjusted based on time? And if even 1 person is either new to the cutscene, or votes "no" to the skip, then we all sit through the movie. I'm no dev, but honestly, for those of us who want to skip and take the XP hit, I feel like that's not a difficult option to provide. SURE - I could do other things, but I happen to like running through the duty roulettes. I just think the MS roulette is a bit silly considering we only have a few options and they both have insanely long cutscenes. If they at least provided an option, which I don't think is harmful or a hinderance at all, it would be a QoL improvement for a LOT of players. That's all. :)

A vote-to-skip option will see an increase of players queueing up for MSQ roulette, with the hope (or possibly even expectation) that they'll get into a group in which everyone votes to skip. This hope/expectation will then cause an increased amount of situations where players will just outright drop the group if a player voted no. This can potentially cause a shift in the playerbase where players are pressured into voting to skip, similar to when these cutscenes hadn't been made unskippable yet.

As I stated in my previous post, it's just better to keep this roulette as clear as possible. The player queueing up knows what they're getting into, knows they'll be put in a dungeon that takes an increased amount of time, and knows they'll be compensated for this extra time spent. If the player doesn't find that the reward is sufficient enough, the solution is to simply not queue up, and to do something that they do find sufficiently rewarding.

As I stated in my previous post, it's just better to keep this roulette as clear as possible. I don't think that's true - if the vote is offered when you initially go to join the roulette, it could just match you up with other players who vote the same, could it not? Likewise for if you vote no. I think the idea that this is overcomplicated is a bit silly, quite frankly. I'm not advocating for anything other than a choice. And I really don't think it's asking for the moon and stars, as some of the comments would have folks believing.

The response, "well if you don't like it, do something else" seems really short sighted when most of the loudest complaints come from folks who've played the game for a long, LOOOOONG time and just don't want to continuously see the same 3 scenes from ARR. Considering how much time, money, etc. most of the long term players have invested in this game, it seems really rude to just say "your suggestion is unrealistic, move on". Know what I mean? I'm not the only one out there who wishes for this, I'm merely voicing on this forum what many, many players have agreed with me on for literal years.

Kinda defeats the original point of the roulette, don't you think? You're essentially asking for SE to split up the queue, and take away queued players from the ones that are actually queueing up because they're at that step of the MSQ. In turn, these players will end up with longer queue times, circling right back to the reason why SE had buffed the rewards to what they currently are.

The only thing shortsighted here, is turning the response of "if you don't think the reward is sufficient enough for the time spent" to "if you don't like it", but I digress. These loudest complaints from the "long, LOOOOONG" time players generally boil down to the amount of time it takes to go through this roulette, and the repetitive nature of these dungeons. Yet instead of simply valueing their own time, they continue to run these roulettes on a daily basis, all while complaining about not being able to skip the cutscenes (and somehow not getting tired of doing the exact same lvl 50 bossfights over and over again, oddly enough).

I'm genuinely curious; Why do you (and these many, many players) feel the need to get this roulette checked off on your daily to-do list? It can't be because of the big reward, since you've already stated to be fine with reduced rewards. "Because I like running roulettes" would be kinda weird, since you clearly aren't enjoying this one (hence the suggestion). And even if this suggestion were to be applied, what would stop you from getting bored from continuously seeing the same 3 instances?
