I have a toon on Dynamis (Hali) and it is DEAD as a dps.
Your account will explode if you make a character on Dynamis. You will not be ok.
I have a couple alts on Dynamis and it really is super dead. I think its more a bots haven than a players. I see a lot of ppl moving in packs that are suspiciously like the packs ppl who used to bot a whole party of 6 for everything in FFXI. There is more underground gathering and questing than normal servers (no idea why they don't add an instant death layer underground to prevent this) and queues that forced me to use trusts for the first time. I abandoned those chars at around lvl 50. The fact they added 4 more servers to that DC is crazy.
If you're queueing for ANY duty above Stormblood, don't count on it popping outside of prime hours, and even then expect 30+ minute waits.
If you're queuing for Late Endwalker trials, don't. They will not pop. Same with Dawntrail trials. The dungeons "may" pop, but I still wouldn't expect them to.
Your roulettes will consist of 75% ARR duties.
Count on DC travelling if you want to get things done in a timely manner.
Made an alt on Kraken. Tried to do Alexander. It took over an hour for each segment to pop. Even longer for the Shadows of Mhach raids.
Gave up and server traveled over to Cactuar. Still getting the hilarious exp buff (about to hit 80, haven't even gotten to Bardam's Mettle yet), but things actually pop in a reasonable time.
I transferred to kraken almost 3 months go and thinking of transferring back to my original home server of leviathan at the end of the month once my 90 days is over. Roulette and duty times can be hit or miss as dps. Sometimes I get instant que and other times it takes 30+ minutes unless I datacenter travel.
Everything Archeron said regarding peak hours is correct.
As a Marilith main that plays over nights, my experience is that you will do a lot of solo play, Adventure Squadron (go ahead hit Captain - may as well), Duty Support, and Trust. When you do make friends that play the same hours - they tend to actually be friends (and that can take a while). Even party finder is incredibly dead late nights. For me anyway; it's quiet, it's chill, and those of us that call it home like it that way.
Cutter's Cry - off peak hours (over nights): talk to friends or plan on unsynched soloing. That may give you an idea.
Roulettes - off peak (over nights): better have at least one friend with you, of yeah.. 30 minutes wait can happen as dps, or an hour.
Basically: most of the things that happen at least on Marlith - happen with parties that started 50% to 100% pre-formed.
So if you have social anxiety - probably not the place. If you need the attention of others, also probably not the place. If you want to progress MSQ without without having to hop DC's? Definitely not the place. You can be in "highly active" FC's that can only put together a full party during peak hours or.. barely manage a light party.. yeah.. that's us!
And as someone else already said - really wish they'd put in something to just kill off the underworld bots, or just a random Z axis check to pop the li'l *redacted* out.
thanks all this has been helpful for making a decision
