FPS tanks when changing instances during hunts

4060/7800x3d/32gb/win11 all uptodate. Playing at 4k, borderless windowed, mostly low settings. i get a locked 60fps in all content once dlss kicks in (for some reason it always takes a moment when first logging in?). Have no issues in other games.

Niche issue but during hunts when changing instances 2/3 times my fps tanks to single digits and becomes unplayable. It either sorts itself out a moment later (by which time ive usually missed a hunt or two) or i have to go fullscreen so that i can lower my resolution for the rest of the hunt to stop it happening. i have viewable players at the lowest possible but its as if when changing instances it loads everything and dlss is not working. Really annoying every time i wanna do hunts.

Sometimes i can change instances through several areas with the train before it randomly starts happening. Sometimes it never happens.

Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?

Likely have Chrome open on my second monitor.

Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?

Only play one.

When the issue happens, is the PC over heating at all?

Not at all.

Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the issue?

i keep everything relatively uptodate so yes there were likely windows updates etc. Hardware no.

Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

My usual fix is to go from borderless 4k to full screen 1080p to fix the issue, i then revert back to 4k when finished.

Please try the following:
- Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and sound drivers (if applicable). It appears that your GPU [NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060] driver was last updated on [7/30/2024], at this time a newer version should be available.

- Please try adjusting/lowering the resolution.
- Please try running the game as an administrator.
- Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
- Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
- Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
- Reinstall game (If steam version, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
