FFXI Raid Boss, Gear and Story speculation

Not sure if a post is out there already for this, but since we're probably close to some sort of announcement I thought I would attempt making a discussion thread around your hopium for the upcoming FFXI raids. This is probably the most excited I've been about something in this game in a long while and I'm hopeful they do it justice..

*What bosses do you think/hope will be in the first 24 person raid? (2nd and 3rd if you're feeling inspired!)

*How do you think they will introduce the raid and progress the storyline and what general plot do you think we will have?

My thoughts:

Story introduction.. i assume we will get another visit from Iroha, Cait Sith and probably an Atamos will be involved somehow.. I kinda think it would be neat of they made us get pulled into another timeline and we gotta help overcome the threats and main conflicts from the game. (i know i know, overdone)

For Bosses, these probably go without saying..

Maat, because nothing more satisfying than beating up the elderly.

Ark Angels (all 5 at once, please dont make the whole raid each one at a time)

Gotta have some dynamis style Yagudo, Orc and Quadav hordes (filler between bosses) somewhere in there..

We already saw Shadow Lord.

I kinda hope they progress the raid series as a TL;DR of the story in order of expansions.

First we will go through the Rise of Zilart. First zone will be the 3 main cities, and end in Jueno and some Cragstone battle arena. Gear theme can be all the Abjuration Gear.

2nd series, Chains of Promathia, final boss fight being Promathia fighting along side Prishe. Raid theme can be the Limbus gear. I also really hope caster gets the igqira weskit!

Then finish the third with a blend of Aht Uhrgan and Seekers of Alduin. Gear theme Salvage!

Lady Lilith presumably the final boss as she orchestrated the whole time loop nonsense.

I am mostly excited for music scrolls and want some Sanctuary of Zi'tah in my FC playlist.

All I can assume is the first boss will open with a very long telegraphed half-cleave followed by the other half and die at two LB bars.

It really depends on how far they want to jump into the expansions. Based on the fact we have Ra'kaznar Armor Coffers as part of the MSQ rewards from Solution 9 leads me to think they are setting up something with Balamor and/or Hades from Seeker's of Adoulin. Ra'kaznar was the area where you fight Hades in FFXI and it also had the same black and purple digital block design that the electrope designs have in FFXIV. It lines up a little too well to overlook for me. We already had a Hades in FFXIV though so idk if they want to go that route or not.

As far as armor I'm really hoping to see Denali and Marduk sets as those 2 were my favorites from the 75 days. Amalric set if they want to pull more recent stuff from lv.99. Bonus points if armor is added in a way that is glamorable by all jobs.

I'd love to get dyable AF gear in the style of 1.0. And I'd especially like it if they include the gear for classes like THF.

And naturally, I'd love to fight Maat. Good memories of beating that guy.

I never played FF11 for long so I cannot comment on story and bosses. Hopefully the difficulty is more inline with what we've seen in Dawntrail so far. We don't need the first 2 minutes of each fight being "Long cast Raidwide -> AoE Markers on random people -> Stack Marker -> Tankbuster on only main tank -> Long cast Raidwide -> AoE Markers on random people with a Stack Marker on someone". Also lets incorporate more fights that require more than one tank, and I don't mean tankbusters targeted on all 3 tanks seen twice throughout the fight.

I'd also like to hear remastered music instead of straight up rips from FF11. We can go to Eureka if we want to hear old FF11 music.

I'm kinda expecting the gear to be AF sets for each raid tier. As neat as it would be to see each FF14 job be matched with FF11's AF armour, I'm expecting the typical shared between armour classes thing.

Tier 1 Scouting - Thief
Tier 2 Scouting - Ninja
Tier 3 Scouting - Ranger? (there's 4 jobs that can work as aiming)
Tier 1 Aiming - Bard
Tier 2 Aiming - Corsair
Tier 3 Aiming - Dancer
Tier 1 Healing - White Mage
Tier 2 Healing - Scholar
Tier 3 Healing - Geomancer?
Tier 1 Casting - Black Mage
Tier 2 Casting - Summoner
Tier 3 Casting - Red Mage

Look man, I'd do a lot of things to get myself an Igqira Weskit set in XIV. Easily one of the greatest sets in XI for me. After that give me Homam Corazza!
