cool abyssal drain idea

i have an idea for abyssal drain. i know job ideas dont tend to get used in the game, but i thought it was cool so id just post it regardless.

when quietus is used, it'd reset the cd of abyssal drain. obviously would need to adjust the damage. but i like it because itd make drk aoe a bit more active and puts abyssal in the spotlight a little more, interacts with blood/delirium a bit. and doesn't mess with the leveling of the skills (could just be a trait after quietus is learned).
maybe it would encroach on gnb's territory a bit, gameplay wise. in that case i would make abyssal into a gcd like double down (so abyssal drain would be a gcd, but have a 60s cd or some such).

in the end its a cool skill but imo got put too much into the corner as it is, which i think is a shame. id like to know if u like the idea or not.

I would enjoy that, but I think I'd rather add that to Salted Earth, which currently feels like just another obligation to work with. It's supposed to be a bit unique, having a more steady and automated AoE damage solution, so maybe just add the effect of Abyssal Drain (that is, gain MP+HP) to each time Salted Earth deals damage? Including Salt&Darkness?

I kinda like the idea simply because it brings Abyssal Drain closer to it's original iteration, where it was all about building up blood to then turn it back into MP for Dark Arts+Abyssal Drain healing.

Honestly if AD was just locked behind 50 blood it would become the most balanced self healing besides clemency since ideally it would do very low damage or no damage so you have to sacrifice damage for it.

Probably would be better to just remove AD being linked to C&S. Make it cost 3k mana and give it the dark arts treatment to where after TBN breaks it gives you a free Edge or Flood or Abyssal drain.

I know homogenization is bad, but really all abilites that cost blood gauge should have a small hp healing effect. Not PLD crazy with 400potency but 250 or 300 potency is fine.

I'd go the opposite way.

Make them mirror abilities like it so often is:

* Abyssal drain deals a certain amount of damage in a radius, drains health and mana per target hit.
* C&S deals that same damage 3 times, each time draining health and mana. Basically, C&S is like hitting 3 targets with AD.

I think they should just combine Abyss Drain and Salted Earth like in pvp. Remove Abyss Drain and make Salted Earth 30 sec oGCD. Would solve self healing issues.
