Can we have a healer on the next expansion boxart please?

Considering the next expansion is getting worked on as we speak, that would be neat to garner some interest about this. Of course, it doesn't solve the other issues mentioned on the forum.. but that would be cool this time around, I think!

That, and I think that would be neat if we got a new tank and a new healer in the next expansion, and not a DPS job, for once. Could you please consider it? Thank you..

It would be cool to see a new healer. Doubly so if it was the ‘poster child job’ for that expansion. But I can’t imagine they would because it’d completely tip the balance one way or the other Their design right now is pretty much predicated on there being four healers (two pure / two shield, two dps focused / two rDPS focused)

Like, either there more ‘pure healers’ than ‘shield healers’ or vice-versa, or it’s an AST Sect type hybrid that switches between the two, which is always going to fall into the issue of the hybrid either being strong enough to invalidate the ‘pure’ versions or so weak that they’re not worth taking.

I think before they added a new healer they’d first need to readjust the current healers to be more individuals jobs with their own strengths and weaknesses, as opposed to current design where we have mostly identical counterpart healers split into categories (pure/shield mainly).

I'm not 100% sure, but iirc, they already said a while ago, that one of the jobs they add in the expansions will always be a DPS job. So I think a Healer + Tank addition is very unlikely to happen.

Also I'm currently on the side, that I'd prefer them fixing the Jobsystem first and the jobs we already have, insted of putting the ressources into developing 2 new ones. I guess the middleground would be to add 1 new job and still do the job re-work. I just think it doesn't make much sense to add more jobs into a system that already needs an overhaul, because every job they add, would make fixing it more and more complicated.

The next expansion, the Warrior of Light could be a Scholar. A giant enemy dashes at them and they use Sacred Soil to push them away. Then they cast Bio. Then they cast Broil. Then they cast Broil. Then they cast Broil. Then they cast Broil. Then they cast Broil. The enemy starts casting a devastating lightning attack, but the Warior of Light just stands there and takes it, spamming Broil while the faerie spams consolation. Nothing can interfere with the turret that WoL has become.

Anyway, one of the jobs will always be a DPS because DPS is the most popular role, according to Yoshi-P. It remains to be seen if role restriction is still a thing since they've been discussing ideas like Skill Trees, Ability Points and Talents to replace leveling.

why, on earth... would we want or need new jobs when the ones they have now are broken in so many ways? why add yet ANOTHER healer that wont be worth the pixels it takes up?

make the next expansion about the "exciting" changes they are doing to jobs... not about adding two more broken bits of garbage that siphon the best skills from the existing jobs.

the addition of new jobs has to STOP until they fix what they have.

Shadowbringers had DRK. Endwalker had PLD. SE doesn't need a new healer in order to feature one.

Urianger is AST and Alphinaud is sage. That leaves only WHM and SCH and neither of these has Derplander poster job vibes. As a healer, he could only ever be a new job.

I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that supposedly we're due for another Tank and Physical Ranged job
However if they were to instead give us a healer, I don't know if they would give that role to the warrior of light
So far he's been portrayed as someone who is more in your face which is fitting for the tank and melee DPS we've gotten so far

technically Y'shtola fits the WHM role as conjurer and Alphinaud was a scholar, he just used a carbuncle instead of a fairy
So while they weren't actually the jobs as we know them they still fit that sort of vibe

A mage in a hooded cloak literally has poster job vibes. Just gotta let it do something other than heal 297 ways. And maybe return to the days when it was more about an adventuring ensemble, and not the main character and their entourage.
