At this point its just starting to get sad and kinda pathetic a multi billion dollar company cant stop this after 2 months SE of the past would be ashamed of the pathetic excuse that's here today

Totally agree, and by the way we are also getting another maintenance, it's like maintenance every week, so you only get 75% of the time to play but they give no refund.

They never did even back in ff11 years. But they did make up for it by doing some event or giving a free week or something.

Realize that FFXIV's server structure, applications, and tools were those of FFXI for FFXIV 1.0 which were transferred over but modified for FFXIV 2.0 and onwards. XIV doesn't do well with data sharing, specially accessing databases; it's why the armoire has to be heavily modified for us to store things on it patchers later.

square enix makes it worse by placing their servers in californi and through level 3 networks/nodes. Arenet, Guild wars 2's developer, realized this and moved their servers away from level 3/west coast in general and their servers are the smoothest in any mmo that I've seen.

Hmmmmmmmmm...

I'd suggest improving your connection, in fact.

Gotta love getting "server is congested" and getting stuck in a 30 second long queue with only two people ahead of you at the absolute deadest hours of the day.
