Would you be okay with 8.0 having no new jobs in exchange for a total job overhaul?

Just curious if people would be okay with no new jobs in exchange for a overhaul of the jobs. Maybe even something like jobs can now do other roles for example gunbreaker can become a dps and dragoon can become a tank

Just let us change jobs within the role after we've zoned into a duty like frontlines, that's all I want.

good idea but probably wont happen because of spaghetti code

I was never able to verify whether or not "no more tanks or healers because too hard to balance ;'(" was an actual thing that SE said, but if that is the case then I will tell you now I will not care about any future jobs.

Please make what we have already fun to play. Tanks and healers don't have nearly enough variety to warrant this many of their options being pains in the asses to play, and we definitely don't need any more flavors of "high apm greed mdps!! :p", please for the love of god.

I know new jobs are good for advertising to get people to buy the current thing, but more garbage on top of the pile is more likely to make me stop playing at this rate.

no i am always excited for new jobs and i am happy with the jobs as they are so it would only be negative for either of them to happen.

it would also be very bad for SE in general to do it as no new jobs and the chances to make every job's main unhappy with the changes would do nothing but harm its bottom line.

i agree with what you said and i feel like if they wanted to advertise for 8.0 maybe SE can say there are new "subjobs" that are pretty much the same jobs but different roles. I obviously would want them to focus on what we already have first though.

No, I want new jobs, but I do think they need to take better care of the existing jobs. I can also see them shaking up the leveling experience in 8.0 though either by not raising the cap to 110, and offering horizontal routes after 100 or doing a level squish.

I agree that it would be in our best interest to overhaul the jobs before adding new jobs. This way, they can lay the proper foundation for future new jobs without having to mess with the existing jobs every expansion to make room for them.

CBS3 needs to slow it's roll for a while with the jobs.

They've proven they can't balance the jobs they already have to begin with and "need" to do overhauls on jobs that have been out for only a few weeks. I think it's necessary they put out a very clear vision for combat as a whole, with a general outline for each role and job. Then before making any drastic changes to the live game, they need to open up for feedback and actually test said feedback in a public manner. Until then abilities and roles are gonna keep changing and bouncing around with band-aid fix after band-aid fix
