Please make the chrysalis into a solo duty.

I really don't understand why this trial even exists, especially after cape westwind and steps of faith got the axe.

Is the chrysalis fun? No, it's objectively the worst trial in the game and it's not even close. All you do is chase the boss back and forth and then try not to fall asleep while grabbing orbs. The only enjoyable part is a 60 second tank invuln during the rift phase, but the novelty wears off very quickly.

Does the fight teach new players anything? Not really. Orb eating happens in porta decumata, meteors are common mechanics throughout the entire game, and the TB spam doesn't change how you deal with it at all. And even if it did teach invaluable things, they could teach those exact same things better in a solo duty.

Does the fight have any rewards, difficulty levels, etc? Nada. It's literally just ARR patch quest filler. It could be completely removed and nothing would change.

This fight blows and I don't want to keep getting it in my roulettes. Can we please please please make it a solo duty and make both the newbies and the vets happy?

Could they do the same for the 4-man "Trials" while they're at it? Getting them in Leveling Roulette always feels incredibly unlucky...

The 4man trials are fine. I actually feel lucky getting them in Levelling Roulette, since they're faster than any dungeon other than Toto-Rak and they give the same daily EXP bonus as dungeons do.

Orb eating doesn't happen in Decumana anymore, only in Ultima's Bane. Chrysalis still needs to be removed, it's the worst trial in the game other than Steps of Faith and that got removed. It has more downtime than in Bismarck, and people complain about that more than Chrysalis because they want to forget that it exists.

I agree. I hope they include Ultima Weapon/Porta Decumana on the list. It was awkward when I was doing ARR after they changed it. After doing Castrum Meridianum, you do Praetorium and then Ultima Weapon back to back.

If they can do it on Final/Steps of Faith and Rhitahtyn's trials, I'm sure it can be done on Chrysalis and Ultima Weapon too.

Chrysalis needs a rework, but I don't think you can call it "the worst fight in the game" when Bismarck exists.

This speaks to my soul.... I loathe getting bismark in roulettes just because of how boring that fight is...

Pleeeaaase get rid of this trial soon. I can't stand having this thing in my roulettes, I'd actively rather eat the thirty minutes and grind materials than deal with Chrysalis.

Since it is mentioned, I wish Cape Westwind were still a trial, not just a solo duty with extreme amount of AoE telegraph spam.


As for Chrysalis, personally I don't mind it being a trial, it was fun to get that when I joined a PF for healer-only Trial roulette, and yes we cleared it.
