Item Black list.

Could we get an item blacklist put into the game.
There are so many items in this game I get from doing random content that I've already gotten everything I want from it.

IE extreme trails.
I go help someone get 2-3 mounts and I end up with 30+ items I have no need or want for.

I would gladly never get a drop from any mob below level 50 at this point.
This would help stabilize the market for low level items as people blacklist items that market board for 1 gil

I dunno. If they did this I wouldn't be able to open the Alexander chests and leave as quickly as possible leaving madness in my wake. I'd have to pick up a new hobby.

Personally, I just use a combination of my retainers, chocobo saddlebag, and the search for item function in game to sort items into areas and then, if I don't want them, sell or trash them out of my inventory. I kinda have it set up that my inventory is my item dump/holds items that I need now, chocobo saddlebag for items I want on hand, and then retainers for true storage. I also haven't been in the game for nearly as long (there is a lot of items out there), so I also make this mention with the knowledge that I have been able to do good upkeep this way, but I could see that, if you let disorganization to happen even on the small scale, this could get messy quick.

So, while I do understand the request, personally, I think I would find myself in a spot where I have items blacklisted one week, forget to switch it back the next for some grind that I want to do, and then basically waste the time and potential items doing the work for no benefit. Now, in this case, you could argue player negligence, but players could equally come back with "but why would you let me blacklist x item, it is so important for y reason". I may be the outlier in this regard though, so this is only my own thoughts on the matter.

Junk drops are a real problem in MMO's and this feature would be welcome.

If my retainers never bring me another Bom Boko or Stuffed Alpha, I'd be thrilled.

+1 to this. So many junk items from furniture,old raid drops, cluster for grade 6 materia (this should just be deleted imo, no one is going to meld grade 6 battle materia) etc it just fills slots. I keep my inventory nearly empty but some people are hoarders with only a few slots open at all times so for them its needed.
