Consistently crashing on the last boss of Thaleia

Hello,
I've been trying to complete the endwalker alliance raid for a few months now with no success due to a persistent and consistent crash that occurs when entering the final boss room. After moving to a new area, I get an extended black screen during which the chat is still live and visible, after which I get a crash to desktop with the following error window: " Unexpected error has occured. exiting Final Fantasy XIV. (17)"

So far I've tried restoring my game files and updating my graphics card drivers, none of which helped. I would appreciate any help you could offer!

What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
At what point does the issue occur?
How often does the issue occur?

Could you provide the exact error message received?
Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
When the issue happens, is the PC over heating at all?
Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the issue?
Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.
