Island Sanctuary Gathering

Now that Island Sanctuary's old content, it would be a good time to up the materials (and experience) from manually gathering in the wilds by 2-3x.

There's much less material wealth to be acquired from the island, to justify the hours of node-clicking required to get the sanctuary up-and-running, and keep workshops maintained.


Personally, it was one of my main disappointments that wilds-gathering never expanded upon as time went on. Had imagined mounted gathering, 'bonus' procs, a hireable shit-talking mammet to pick up our scraps, etc. But if it can't be made less tedious, then less time-consuming would do.

Can't say I agree. I can't recall a single time I've gathered anything in the wild after ranking up. And you are only grinding hundreds (thousands?) of materials if you are zerging to completion. If you let your exp come from quests/workshop, there really isn't much to gather.

It may be old content but it can still make you some gil. My island is fully upgraded and I am there every day. My granaries bring me most of what my factories need, I gather a few times each week if needed.

I would guess you never completed the hideaway. Upgrading and building buildings gives lots of island EXPs.

Upgrade the cozy cabin first, it unlocks other upgrades. Gather what you need at the time. As DPSguy said, there isn't much EXPs in the gathering part.

Once it is fully upgraded there are ways to automate it. They don't max returns but they reduce involvement to once a week.

I agree we need gather more items at once, gathering is the reason why I stopped farming my workshop. It's the torment for me to gathering 100 more items for running workshop.

As is usual for someone who's had their island in production mode for a few months.
It's only "hard" to have materials until you unlock the Granary, and then for less than a week after you unlock flight and the cave.

I export everything I have in excess of 100, which in a worst case scenario will leave me sufficient materials for my workshops for 2 weeks if I'm not collecting from my granaries.

If you're worried about capping, better to export most of what you're sitting on. Then you won't have to worry about capping when collecting from your granaries. Even if you only reduce your stockpile to 500, that's going to be sufficient room for several weeks of granary collections.
