These are some of the things that the new client for this game must do/fix when compared to FFXIV 1.X.
- Graphics Settings - Let me max out and not melt my GPU. My PC is way more powerful than it was when the game game out and I still can't get remotely close to maxing out. I've yet to see a game (BF3 excluded) that did not allow me to max it out and have a smooth/solid play session.
- Server/Client Relationship - It's understandable that positioning won't be updated as frequently as things like cures but it NEEDs to be better than it currently is. Watching people fly through walls and or get killed by fire they're not standing on looks really bad.
- User Interface - Needs to be fluid/snappy and allow me to open more than one window at a time. If I sell something to an NPC it needs to be out of my inventory before I can blink... currently this is not the case. To any white knights - no it's not my computer or my connection.
- Client Patcher - Use a better method for downloading patches. Opening ports doesn't completely fix the problem with the updater. It's completely hit or miss... shouldn't take 15-60 mins to download a 3mb update.
- Configuration Options - Graphics, Controller, Font, etc settings NEED to be accessible within the game. If I see an outside configuration utility and not one within the game with the same settings I'm going to be furious. Anyone that has tried to fine tune their graphics settings knows how annoying this is.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something so I'll add stuff that others post that is relevant and important. Hopefully the representatives can pass this along to the devs so they know that things are critical to the success of the game.
What would you guys like to see? Keep in mind that this thread is only about the game client itself and not in regards to any game mechanics/systems... please keep those posts out of the thread.

It wasn't long after they brought on Yoshi P that they started rebuilding the game's engine and client software from scratch. I'm fairly certain that A: You're a little late in the game to be making suggestions and B: What you've stated is either obvious enough, has been confirmed already, or will be easy enough to implement.
Buuuut by all means keep throwing ideas at SE that we've already beaten to death. -

You forgot CPU optimizations, These days there's no excuse for a non port PC title to not fully utilize 4 cores.

I support all of the requests. I would also like to see a setable profile besides Default. so when you find a perfect setting, you could save it. Then when you continue tweaking you can go back to your best settings without having to default and go back through it.

Keep in mind most of what you have pointed out OP has been either done or is in process of being done, I'll, with reluctance, do the talk and not the walk, but you can find all the patch notes and progress notes on the website, and chances are if you do some digging, you will find that interface work has always been a top priority for the 2.0 client.
