Please stop putting Piety on gear

If I really really actually need it I'll meld it. Just stop putting it on there.

Ok, I will bite. What is the reasoning behind this? If its on the gear your dont take up materia slots?

It's a complete waste of stat points, it does nothing for decent healer, it is to healers as tenacity is to tanks - only worse since (while objectively worse than determination) tenacity does have some useful effects. By the time a couple of dozen mp regen is useful something is very wrong and you're going to burn that mp too fast for it to have any impact, making piety useless, and if you don't do enough healing to need more mp regen then it's useless anyway. Ergo - piety is useless and we shouldn't have it forced on our gear.

Piety is the only stat that makes you drop your iLv if possible lol.

Look at that Savage/Aug tome boots vs NR boots from this tier.

Because piety is such a bad stat it’s actually a DPS increase to run lower ilvl gear to avoid having it on your gear

Right now the 710 normal raid boots are BIS over both the 730 tomestone and savage boots because both the 730 pieces have piety as their main stat

SGE gloves are also BiS for damage if you use crafted instead. I thought 10ilv difference in rings was funny in p9s-12s healer bis, yet square enix broke my expectations again by nerfing piety and making 20ilvs below raid gear the current bis for some healers.
At this point I find it impressive.

Fair point, since im not doing high end raiding anymore I have not really paid attention. But asking them to drop piety is like asking a wishing well for a wish. Neither the well or SQE actually listen to anybody and it does not fit in with their design of making healers dull AF. But I wish you all luck with your request.

I mean, it wouldn’t be an issue if piety wasn’t a trash stat lol. Idk what it should be but it needs to be better. There shouldn’t be stats whose sole purpose is ‘ignore this and go meld a stat intended specifically for DPS’ lol

Because piety is a trash stat. It is actively worse to wear a 730 piece than a 710 piece if it has piety on it, at the moment.

...how about instead of complaining about Piety existing on gear, we ask for Piety to actually behave like Tenacity for tanks and actually have 80-90% of the damage gains of Determination?
