Dancer's Tillana issue ignored in the 7.05 notes... how?!

Like, how they can address technical stuff for some jobs, like BLM's Umbral Soul, and completely ignore the big flaw that Tillana does have?

For those who don't play DNC: Tillana doesn't follow their pattern that other jobs have of "gives a free usage of a <insert resource spender>" in this case, Esprit. Instead, Tillana gives 50 of it, which is problematic because it leads easily to overcap Saber Dance / Dance of the Dawn usages during burst windows.

I don't think it fully fixes DNC's issues with their resources, but at least it would alleviate things for a while.

I mean yes you are technically correct that it does not follow the pattern of Manafication (melee combo), Plentiful Harvest (enshroud) and so on, but honestly from a quick glance and test on striking dummies, you can actually hold Tillana for 30 seconds.

It's not even a combo you'd break; you can use regular combo and proc skills as well as Saber Dance / Dance of the Dawn to manage Esprit before using Tillana and prevent overcap yourself. Mind you I don't exactly main Dancer, but I don't quite see the issue here if you got a 30 second window to generate the +50 Esprit without losing it.

EDIT: At most I can see a silly situation if you sit on like 40-45 Esprit before Technical Step and then have a weird waiting period for reaching 50 gauge or risk losing a bit of Esprit or perfectly aligned potencies by going Tillana early.

That's the thing, you can't see the situation on a target dummy because of the lack of the Dance Partner. In practice, you'd almost always see an overcap state.

The problem is DNC generates soooo much esprit because of how tech works (20% chance to get esprit from each GCD a party member does) and DNC now has so many fixed GCD's in burst which is its own issue that you can easily run into the situation where even if you hold Tilana your esprit can jump from 50 to over 100 in a moment and boom overcap because we don't have enough free GCD's to spend Esprit fast enough now

That's interesting, I had no idea Esprit generation is that crazy from Technical Step. And looks like it is also running out of real estate in the burst, so shifting GCDs isn't exactly a real use either... yeah, I getcha then. Thanks for the insight.

People have been toying around with some fixes for it:
- Tillana giving a free usage of SD/DotD
- The Esprit gauge having an increased capacity during Technical Finish, like Chakra's new feature
- DotD or Last Dance converted into an ogcd

There's some beautiful irony in Reaper being changed to a free cast when overcapping was a non-issue while Dancer who's practically drowning in esprit generation is ignored.

Petty comments aside, as an occasional Dancer it's definitely something I noticed. You get so much Esprit that you actually want to have as little of it as possible going into burst, so why tie it to a resource bar at all if I'm supposed to press it asap every time.
