Leveling by FATE has been frustrated with Bluemage instakill

*Reposter: I post this thread on behave of a friend of mine who\\'s new to XIV and their character is in the Chinese server.

Hi. I’m a new player in xiv, I’ve been leveling my character with FATE on top of the other daily roulette. Now that the Yo-Kai event is undergoing in the Chinese server, I’m trying to do both leveling and the event with FATE. With the advantage of Bluemage\\'s instakill shots, things are getting frustrating. It seems impossible for me to get credit from a FATE even with the tank role, not to mention I’d be luck to find a party in the party finder. Most of the time, I’m fighting alone, and so do the other players who are not comfortable enough to join a party.

I understand this is a short term event and things will die down eventually, but it probably won’t be the only event that requires FATE, and I still have the hope that the FATE situation would be better either from the skill shots or the player community.

* Reposter: I know the new areas like all 7.0 maps has dynamic FATE difficulties based on the player counts in the zone. Mayhap this setting will eventually applied to all the older maps.*

Yeah, it has a been a problem for some time now !

I still don't understand how devs could create insta-kill abilities in a multiplayer game.
It is incredibly stupid in my opinion.

I agree with OP. FATEs are incredibly outdated gameplay-wise. I love what they've done with rewards, bicolor gemstones, and forlorn maidens, but the actual root of the problem needs to be fixed. The way FATEs work is very janky and outdated, and the fact that BLUs can come in and trivialize them makes the content worse for everyone else.

I read the full OP. Party with the BLUs. Everyone wins.

This won't get fixed. Use palace of the dead to level. I think fate boss beyond arr can't get insta killed

Beyond OP's stated use case, I'll add that in my experience, Blue Mages tend to suck the fun out of FATEs. The way their abilities trivialize FATES and doing things like pulling all the enemies to them just isn't fun to play with, whether they're on your team or not. A FATE is an entirely different experience depending on whether there is or isn't a Blue Mage there, and that's something I hope the developers can address.

It's been an issue since the beginning of Blue Mage release. It's just how it is, really. You can wait until the first week or two of the event has happened when everyone has finished grinding and then less people are doing it.

I suggest they become comfortable joining a party. There is nothing to be afraid of. Usually, nobody talks anyway and if they do, they are chill. Set one up yourself by clicking Recruit and then select the FATE category.
