Extreme Trials are so good

As the title says, I love the extreme trials. I had great fun with the design of ex1 and ex2.
Whats good about that level lets see
1. Difficulty is just about right. Not braindead, but not 8 man body checks for 10-12 mins straight. (i.e pixel perfect positions or entire raid wipes)
2. DPS check not too tight (too tight = every mechanic must be cleared without deaths/damage downs) where few ppl die and we still clear the boss fight. Sometimes laugh at our deaths but still manage to beat em boss.
3. A great way newbies to git gud. and learn mechanics/ telegraphs.
Although i do savage raids, sometimes i wanna have fun
WISHLIST
1. every normal raid also has a mid tier (extreme) level with fun variations of the same fight. Which is released like 3 weeks after the savage tier.
2. The fight is less focussed on precision and more on fun/silly aspect.
3. And the silly mechanics are in random order so each fight could be different.
for example. if honey B lovely charms a WHM, the WHM heals honey b to full hp using benidiction (if its not on cooldown) so gotta use it before being charmed.
Nothing serious, just a fun tier with lots of deaths and laughs/sillyness.

I had a great time with ex1. Thought it was a very dynamic dance and fun to learn with an awesome tank buster and interesting heal checks throughout. Visually, this fight is friggin fantastic. The environmental changes and music make even the slower parts of the fight feel engaging.

Ex2 however was just ok. Felt like more of the same. Wasn't a particularly flashy fight to begin with and the mechanics weren't really creative. Doesn't help that I feel absolutely nothing for the character we're fighting. Congo line is funny though.

I had a blast figuring out Ex2, but I could see that in hindsight or if you read a guide that it might feel little more than the same sort of thing we've seen again and again.

I'd still compare it favorably with e.g. Hades Extreme though; while both had mechanics that you would recognize had you played all the fights they were referencing, Hades Extreme does little with these mechanics, the solutions to even the complicated 'mechanics soup' type of things like "Universal Manipulation" just being "go stand in your clock spot / rotate 45 degrees to your partner's spot if you're <role here> / stack in your light party". DT Ex 2 by contrast at least mixed the old with the new; Sync + Eden Titan Triangles was a really fun combo.

Once you know the solution to both, they are similar, with only the execution of them being different. In that regard, at least there's more variety in Ex2 with how he may choose to swing the swords, whether a side is a donut or disc, and there being dynamic, moving obstacles more often. Hades Ex would still be identical for most mechanics, or "if I did x before, y will be done later". Not to mention having all of the same normal mode cutscenes plus a extra, plus an extra long one at the end just to say 'fuck you' to people farming the fight. Replayability is a major factor to consider in every encounter IMO; probably the duties with the least concern in that regard should be solo duties and Ultimates (I guarantee people who farm those will do so anyways).

The EX1 extended tank buster where you have to swap back and forth is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in this game. If the whole expansion is more of that I am very excited.

Wish Ex2 had the first phase of that fight.

I still love the P10S tankbuster the best but I really love Mountain Fire. I especially like that it's a tankbuster that involves the entire party. It's also forgiving that you can have a dps or even a healer out of the line and get them back up in time for party stacks, so everything isn't scrubbed if one person dies.

I enjoy the mind games in ex2. I'm still sussing all the patterns and things out but they make the fight interesting and give it a flavor that's different than ex1.

I'm hopeful they saw how much we absolutely hated constant body checks last expansion and dialed them back a bit in favor of fun and interesting mechanics to learn the dance to and not-so-obvious tells so we have to pay attention more. Hopefully this continues in ex3 and onward.

The EXs aren't that good imo it's just more of the same an nothing new or added to diverse from content I've been doing for the past 10yrs.

Yay for moving more ig, but all fundamentally the same mechs we've seen and done countless times before.

Have they done a tankbuster like mountain fire before
thats my favorite mechanic out of the two by a mile but i've never seen it any previous raids
(i've not done any ultimates, yet so maybe it's there)
