game stuck at black screen start up and temperature reached critical

this happened right after i do gpose for hours in maximum graphic setting.
im using laptop acer nitro 5

processor: i5 12500H
RAM: 16GB DDR5
GPU: RTX 3060 Laptop GPU

update: well, i can still open the game, but the temperature still high, i have to set my laptop fans to performance mode. and play in standard (laptop settings) to keep it 70c

I often get a long pause (black screen) at startup since DT. Also when closing the game. So far, no overheating. Just stuttering and freezes, and latency in alliance raids are the biggest issues for me. Been playing with the graphics settings, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I hope they fix this soon. It all subtracts from the enjoyment of the game.

At what point does the issue occur?
How often does the issue occur?

Could you provide the exact error message received?
Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the issue?
Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

From the description provided, it sounds like your system may be overheating. We recommend trying to clear/clean any vents to see if it helps.

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.

The game still hangs on a black screen (before the Square Enix logo) at start up.
Would be nice if this was addressed. 93 gigs of files is not a tiddly amount of download to be trying to fix this via the launcher. Already did that before 7.01.
Everything else has resolved (at least for now).
One thing I have noticed; when I had my settings for full screen, the game loaded in borderless windowed mode. When I changed it to borderless windowed mode, it now opens in full screen. Go figure! /shrug
