What has the job team been doing this whole time?

There are hardly any changes to the jobs and the changes they did are just lazy add-ons to existing combos.

If you look at the amount of changes that the WoW team is doing to each spec and class in the next expansion The War Within, it makes the FFXIV team look like a joke.

thinking up ways to simplify jobs even more while also making them feel worse to play.

I don't think it's any surprise that the WoW class dev brains are light years ahead of FFXIV's job dev brains. Of all the problems with WoW that people complain about, I don't think their class design philosophy (read: separate from balance, which is an issue in every game ever) has ever been a very prominent one. It's why the game still has such a strong endgame scene despite the story, leveling, and metagame being kind of middling.

Except for that one time when they butchered Survival Hunter. The brains must have been on holiday.

They homongenized all jobs in every role for balance reasons, but job balance got worse over the expansions.

They dumbed down jobs for accessibility, only to gatekeep newcomers with convoluted tooltips and awful action window UI.

They removed skill expressions on jobs so no one can be deadweight to the team, only to fill battle content with body check mechanics that wipe the entire party for one single mistake

They took away skills that are loved by many, but the reason behind their removal is inconsistent and incoherent. Uselss skills still exist, i.e, Flamethrower, Scathe.

People hate it when everything gets changed up.

Because it is. Afaik there's litteraly 4 people Working on Job design. And their probably already half assing the job 'changes' for next expac right now.

I never know Square enix was this greedy

Graphics update, understand these devs are only one major change at a time. Folks really really really dont understand the limited capabilities of SE vs something like Blizzard that now has the backing of Microsoft and can quite literally throw tons of money into its devs and hiring then letting go hundreds of employees. Not really a way most Japanese companies conduct themselves who love seniority and life time employees.

What is this new cope?
The battle team is shared with the graphics/programming team now?
The insane rising player count + mog station + sales of the last few years deserves less content for us?
Basic content like this? Isn't that why we lost our extra dungeon per patch also...?
