DT's writers appear to have the most basic understanding of a shonen style story telling but don't understand what actually makes a good shonen story.

Comparing DT to Naruto or One Piece or any other shonen story is an insult to those stories.

Yeah I agree with the article. One Piece was the first thing that came to mind during the succession rite. Yoshi-P is a huge fan so it checks out. I played with japanese voices and french localization, so I don't have the same experience as everyone else here in regards to Wuk Lamat's character, but I enjoyed her a lot as the main character of this story and I think the comparison to Luffy is on point, at least in the french/japanese localization. I saw one part of the ending in english, I don't dislike her english voice but I felt that the voice acting was a bit weak.
