Gathering node distribution in Dawntrail

Is it my imagination, or are the gathering nodes further spread apart than they have ever been?

And if it is not my imagination, whatever can the reasoning be that made someone look at the mining/botany grind and think, "This needs more walking simulator"?

Yes, this time I feel like I have to use mount between even the "paired" nodes

Yes, I noticed this too.. and that is a first for me to find that going through the mount animation still saves time.

Yeah, it's getting out of hand. Nodes seem hugely spaced out in the Kozama'uka map, especially if you're still on a ground mount

I thought this would be a post about how you get access to the second kind of lumber in the crafting log before the first - the first is locked behind an area of the map you can't get to until after the first dungeon, unless you have a friend fly you. Same for the first GSM ore. I got to the dungeon two days before the person I was going to do it with and took the time to craft instead, but the order of acquisition was... bizarre.

I do agree that the nodes are very far apart, and in fresh new maps it makes it very easy to get lost and run off in search of the next node in the wrong direction. I've never really had to use waymarks for gathering before.

There's also a level 94 MIN levequest in Kozama'uka on top of a cliff that there's no way to get to without flying (well, no clear way at least, I managed to parkour up a few cliff faces after a good ten minutes of running around trying to find a way up). I get they probably assume you're levelling crafters and gatherers at the same rate as you're doing MSQ and at 94 MSQ I'm sure you have access to flying there, but.

Everything about the node placements seems a little strange this time around. I've never really felt like I was doing something 'wrong' by levelling crafters/gatherers first before.
