Bard: Action Change Settings: Add Heavy Shot

So whether you love or hate Action Change Settings, I am sure everyone can think of something wherein "I am not sure that needs to be two different abilities".

For me, it was Heavy Shot proc'ing into Straight Shot. Nothing fit the description of perfect use case for Action Changes than this, for me, as there is never a time where I want to keep using Heavy/Burst Shot when its Proc is up.

So I was surprised, out of all the Action Changes (DPS buff into single target DoT on GNB), this didnt get Action Change?

Thus, requesting more action change setting options, to include:
Heavy Shot -> Straight Shot // Burst Shot -> Refulgent Arrow (the upgraded versions of them at 70/76)

Or, allow it to stack so that they actually have some reason to be separate keys. Or give both options. Whichever.

LOL what a bad take than why have refulgent at all lmao? the point of refulgent is for you to pay attention to when you get a proc not mindlessly press 1 1 1 1 11 1 1 without a care in the world, turning burst shot into refulgent literally removes any reason to have refulgent at all it invalidates the ability.

1) You're clearly not thinking correctly, or you dont understand/play bard. Refulgent Arrow is Proc'ed from Hawks Eye now, something someone playing Bard would know. Further, Burst Arrow and Refulgent Arrow are not the same ability, so no, it Action Changing would not invalidate the Refulgent Arrow, it would replace a 220 GCD with a 280 GCD when the 35% proc is triggered, and you go back to using Burst Shot after use and between the other old/new GCDs. This is mostly considerations for Bard past level 50 Polaris (once you get to 100, it might make more sense).
2) Moreover, Hawk's Eye is granted by many things now. The WHOLE POINT of the Action Change Settings is exactly as described, to remove button bloat and not split into multiple hotbar keys a series that is entirely dependent on the other (many, MANY classes already employ this, specifically Pally and GNB and Dancer come to mind). As it currently is, there is no reason for Refulgent Arrow to be available and the Bard to prefer Burst Arrow (even if your seconds away from your burst window, imo, it proc is 35% now on so many things, so get your extra 60 potency and go back to proc hunting).
3) Action Change Setting is optional, people like you, who want to sit on a single Refulgent Arrow proc while Heavy/Burst Shot, Quick Nock/Landonsbite, Iron Jaws, Caustic Bite, Storm Bite keep trying to proc can still do so, but there is no value in spamming a 220 GCD when you could use a 280 GCD of identical cast, range, etc; particually when using the 280 frees up the other 5 actions to 35% proc it again.


Shurrikhan's suggestion is good. I like the idea of stacking 2 or 3. That seems convenient, though I think I would prefer less button bloat if both aren't an option.

Personally, I would hate this change. I play bard for the procs and timers. Refulgent arrow is a proc you need to pay attention to and getting rid of it is getting rid of some skill expression.

It's crazy how healers want to stop pressing 11111, and some DPS players are advocating to press 11111 all the time.

How is that relevant? The Action Change Settings are optional, not forced. Or do you mean to say everyone should only play as you do?
Maybe people are forgetting Action Change Settings are optional only, like all the current action change settings. I don't suggest a perma change to "※This action cannot be assigned to a hotbar." Thats not what Action Change Settings are (Wanderer's Minuet and Pitch Perfect, for example)

Also, why you think bard is just spamming burst and ref arrow only (such that the entire class would be spamming 1 button if Action Change Settings gave the option)?

How is it not relevant? You're literally asking for an ability that requires some sort of skill, i.e., watching the proc, hitting it accordingly, and not accidentally overwriting it, etc., to an upgrade to burst shot. You're removing a proc that bard players NEED to watch for and asking it be turned into a 111111 spam ability. And no, don't tell me it doesn't require any skill, because people can, and still, overwrite their RA procs by using BS accidentally. If I can accidentally overwrite it during prog, I'm pretty sure you would as well.

It's also funny how you're insinuating that I thought that bard is "just spamming burst and ref arrow only." Did I say that? Or are you just putting words in my mouth. If I thought bard was just spamming those 2 abilities, I wouldn't have played bard in all 5 ultimates and all savage tiers in endwalker.

This is the crux of the matter with all proc DPS rphys right now, there is no reason to press anything else than the proc when it procs, and it's sad, and we get threads like this.
