While I get PVP is a statistical outlier and should not be counted, why is Snake Scales exclusive to PVP? VPR is missing a defensive ability aside from Feint where every other DPS has some sort of defensive action. Seems like an oversight.

It’s because they have high damage and EXCELLENT mobility and disengage tools. This is the type of feedback that leads them to slowly homegenize jobs. Let jobs have different strengths and weaknesses instead of being like “X job can do this so they have to make Y job do that too!!”
Let Viper be a job where you focus solely on fast-paced DPS and moving around the arena. If you have to weave in defensive they will use that as an excuse to reduce the APM
Plus you can easily heal half your hp with bloodbath and a reawakening combo.
Not every job needs to have access to the same tools.
Differences are good.
