Role Tactics(MT, H, M etc) Questions

Let´s take Valigarmanda Ex for example.

Why does everyone use those confusing terms(this makes a mess in a lot of groups because everyone is using the terms different with being different methods/guides out there) instead of just saying "you pairstack with healer 1", "you with healer 2", "you with tank 1" and "you with tank 2" to the 4 dps...

And how does it matter if m1 or r1 pairstacks with h1?

Or m1/r1 with mt?

I'm used to them being used in conjunction with macros. The macro lays out which role is going to stand where for certain mechanics. Assigning a position to everyone just makes it so that all you need is to look at the macro and you know where your clock spot is, or who your stack partner is. It's a way to make things fast and efficient.

Guess i should make a macro too^^ in case no one is leading the actual group so i can make a suggestion with that macro.

But imo, just marking healers with 1 and 2, tanks with 1(chain) and 2(chain) and then letting every dps decide what healer(1 or 2) or tank(chain 1 or chain 2) he/she pairstacks with is WAY easier and super clear. I think the guides are mostly a real mess to understand for non veterans.

Still, i´m curious if it makes a difference if a melee or range pairstacks with a healer for example. Like is a stack with range dps maybe leading to more damage income?

It is not. That's the whole reason a system like this was created. If you let the players themselves decide where they want to go, they will not do it.

And in reality, if you just post them the tactics shotcuts or a macro a lot of people dont understand it and don´t do it right even more^^ except the people you play with are veterans and know all mechs already lol.

If you just let the players decide what marks they pairstack with, THEY KNOW EXACTLY where to go without thinking a second about what your macro/tactics mean.
