Bard: Glorious Wide Volley

Yoshi-P I will literally sell you my left kidney right now if you find a way to make Bard’s Wide Volley available at level 100 : beyond level 72. Hell I’d even take it as a combo opener for Shadowbite. Honestly I love the animation so much I’d consider changing Bard to my main job (I’d still complain about it tbh lol who am I kidding).

Also as much as I love the animation for Heartbreak Shot, it’s waaaaay too long for the gcd lol, feels like 70% of the animation can get clipped sometimes.

I honestly don't like Heartbreak Shot much, for how much it gets spammed during mage's it's a much more in-your-face effect than bloodletter was.

I would really like Wide Volley at 100 though, yeah. The new barrage followup is kind of similar, with the backflip, but it's just not the same. I still miss Wide Volley and will be forever bummed that they chose to remove Wide Volley, and not Quick Nock instead.

Not to mention for Heartbreak Shot that the long animation being cut off but still partially playing is even worse during Burst/Ballad too. Like you’ll use Heartbreak, then Burst, and suddenly your character is simultaneously recoiling backwards on the top half but stepping forward on the bottom half. It just looks ridiculous lol.

And yeah, for me Wide Volley was peak Bard and I will not rest until it’s returned as real weaponskill and not just a Shadowbite alternative. Plus, there’s literally no thematic or visual continuity between either of the skills whatsoever.

One has you back flip and unleash a rain of colourful arrows, the other has you standing completely still while firing bolts of blackest night at the enemy (Shadowbite is a DRK skill and nothing will change my mind lol). Like there’s little logical sense in how ‘Wide Volley’ somehow becomes ‘Shadowbite’. If anything Sidewinder would’ve made more sense as a Shadowbite downgrade, if they just gave it a small aoe radius

personally i think ironjaw should have bloodletter/heartbreak shot animation

heartbreak shot animation should be something fast like sidewinder animation considering its a weaving skill so it only has like 1 second of animation to pull off and something like sidewinder animation is perfect for it
