dawntrail and plothole

first i want to say that the story is cool, some part better than other and some have trouble of pacing, but all in all it's ok.

the major Plothole i have a concern is:

dawntrail is going like everything that did happend in endwalker never did happend. i means by this... the whole end of the world. people transforming into monster. the whole world was under this, the whole universe was affected by the this.... but nowhere in dawntrail it's mentionned... this event was cataclysmic and at no point it's said to happend in tural.... what is a big major plothole.

especially with all the trouble the country have like with the mamool ja with the halfbreed cult. no way this didn't trigger any transformation... nor any monster didn't transform and attack the country.

and it's not the only concern i have with dawntrail story... i feel it's like a filler of an anime series, like it's not important, but sorry, it's important for the continuity especially when even character like emet have told us to check how the other continent did face this.

i hope this will be addressed... because for me it did feel weird the whole story.

another point that did bother me, but aren't really a plothole.... it's, why i did feel like i was playing a wow expansion more than a FF14 expansion, i'm saying that we wasn't the main protagonist we was only present because we was strong. i can understand that it was more about the other character, but i want FF14 to remain a story about us... into this world, more than us looking at this world.

we have meet tons of people and race and event that was possible to use as reference to help solve a lot of the trouble we did face. but here never we did step up, we was always passive and i feel it's wrong. yes it's them country, but no we are not there for only be a spectator.

another thing, i feel that wuk lamat did get too strong too fast... to the point that she can rival with character that have far more experience than her. especially in the last trial i feel it was forced and not welcome, i means she did litterally appear out of nowhere and being more powerfull than us... that technically are far more powerfull than her, only by going with the fact we already have fuse with the us of the first reflect, what she can't have done. i'm not against character getting stronger with time, but i feel she did get too strong too fast. to the point to rival with zoral ja, that is said to be far stronger than her, while being enhanced what feel strange.

The Final Days didn't affect everywhere on Etheirys equally - both in the Ancients' case and in our case, it manifested first/most strongly in the places where the aether currents surrounding the planet were weakest. That's why Thavnair was in full apocolypse mode, while the other nations had more isolated incidents of Blasphemies.

As far as I can remember, the Final Days didn't reach Sharlayan at all before we fixed things, so it could have been the same for Tural. It is a little weird how it doesn't come up in conversation at all, but I wouldn't call it a plot hole.

That's not a plot hole and it was actually addressed in Endwalker's content. The Final Days wasn't a global event and focused on certain parts of the world. It would have expanded to a global event, had we not stopped it... But there were even places that the Final Days didn't even have any impact on like Sharlayan.

i'm sorry but that was already something fishy in endwalker and here why...

the final day is people hearing the song that come across the space. the song don't simply aim at area it's something affecting the whole world. sharlayan wasn't as much affected because it's a place filled with people that are focusing on something and don't fall easily into despair, what is creating the transformation. however, tural is not the same... even if, let's say the capital people are living without failing to despair, people in yak tel can't be said to feel the same. (that an example) without forget that rat a moment the monster was affected heavily by the song, what did lead to the dungeon where you have radz at han attacked, without forget that people did learn and share the information about how the final day affect people throught the alliance.
what one more time wasn't the fact for tural with the limited contact with the exterior world.
another point that contradict this, is emet specifically talking about how we don't know how the final days did affect by example, merycidia. here it's litterally like nothing did happend... in case of invasion from the empire, it was normal that other continent that had almost no contact didn't know about it.... here the final days are a global event. something that was not born in etherys, but from space.

for me it's a plothole, it's not because we say, yes it didn't affect tural because, it didn't affect the whole world the same. if that was something born from the world yes, but for something coming from space it make no sense. period.

You need to pay more attention during MSQ. The song of Oblivion is pretty much Dynamis waves originating from Ultima Thule, sent by the Meteia, there's no actual "song".

It was explained multiple times that Dynamis is weak against aether. Which is, even in quantity, if faced with aether it will be simply blocked out. Back during the first Calamity in Ancient times, Fandaniel realized only places where the celestial currents were the weakest.
If you have a hard time understanding what Celestial currents are, imagine our very own planet ozone layer, except instead of ozone, it's aether. There's some places where it's weaker, and some places where there's literal holes.

We learn later on what Dynamis is and that's what is causing the final days. So yes, the Song does touch all of Etheirys, but most of it is filtered by the strong celestial currents, except in places like Radz at Han or Garlemald. The celestial/ozone current has a hole or is exceptionnaly weak over these locations, so the Song wasn't filtered by aether, meaning the Final days happened in full force.
But in other places like Sharlayan, most of the dynamis was filtered so when it reached the population, it had very little to no effect.

This is also how Zodiark protected Etheirys: he set up a huge aether bubble around the star, which nullified the Dynamis.

true, exept the buble is not present anymore when the final days begin... another point, we can clearly see that tural don't have a huge magical user population outside of the hanu hanu and i feel that is strange to point out that mericydia the place filled with dragon was probably more affected than tural.

it was simple to talk about it and say they had a few instance and deal it like this... instead to use a plot armor and say.... it didn't affect a whoooole continent... while the rest of the world was affected. it's a plothole, we can find any reason of why it didn't happend, the fact that it was never mentioned in the expansion is a plot hole. and i feel it was an error to not mention it.... simply for continuity.

is not bad to the point to hurt the story, simply continuity until dawntrail was really well done and here it feel strange to left this out totally. it make feel like the whole dawntrail is a filler of an anime that is not cannon...while we know is not the case.

The bubble also wasn't present in Ancient times but the Celestial Currents were which led to the localised issues that were being experienced. Weak points in the currents don't necessarily correlate with local magic user populations but well... spoilers for up to after the level 97 dungeon.

Even if there was a hole in the Celestial Currents, if high concentrations of aether could forestall the final days temporarily. First, you'd need to consider the sheer amount of electrope present at the end of the Skydeep Cenote represents a pretty significant pile of aether-charged material that was giving of some kind of area of effect that resulted in the local Yok Huy dreaming about the golden city when they were close enough to it. Then you'd also need to consider that you have Valigarmanda trapped inside a giant prison created by ice aether. And third, if those two managed to protect Yok Tural during the final days, it's plausible a hole over Xak Tural could have been over Yyasulani with the locals having had thirty years of more important problems to worry about thanks to Alexandria.

Agreed that we're probably getting a note that some area in Xak Tural or southern Yok Tural was hit by the Final Days red sky but the rest of the continent was spared, much as all of Eorzea (and most of known Othard) was fine. The role quests establish some of the other regions and people in Tural, and we still have all the side content for new locales.

I don't think there actually is a plot hole in 'Dawntrial doesn't look like it got hit by the End of Days', because we do know what societies that weren't Thavnair and later Garlemald getting hit was like, and it's basically 'dealing with one Blasphemy that speaks to their society's ills'. We also know that we're not the only person that can deal with those things (it's mentioned in dialog that I think Bozja took care of theirs themselves), and that it's possible for a nation to just never produce one, because somehow Ul'dah was free of them.

I go through Tural, and I feel like there's maybe only two populations that would plausibly produce a blasphemy... and they're the two populations most likely to be able to handle it: The rebel Yok Huy of Urqopacha, and the Mamool Ja of specifically Mamook. Both of them are warrior races whose claimant challenges were specifically centered around combat; those guys can totally throw down with a horror-monster, and probably wouldn't even think it all that exceptional to bring up.

...in fact, it occurs to me that being that Tural wasn't in the loop on the End of Days situation, it's entirely possible they wouldn't even know that was some new, insane thing that we were classifying and naming across the salt. And suddenly I think about the tural vidraal that Zoraal Ja was off fighting during the tournament Bakool Ja Ja won; given Zoraal Ja isn't the type to share much of anything with others, how could we even know it wasn't a misreported blasphemy?
