Small gripe - Trial with Trusts (as healer)

I just reached the first trial and thought it might be fun to do it with the npcs and heal them through it.

Sadly I realized fast that seemingly square enix does not trust the healer player to do any healing at all. The npc heal covers the entirety of needed healing for the fight. I turned off my passive healing (kardia) and was purely spamming my 1 + now and then the dot. Nobody went low and the npc healer kept everyone alive, even through the multiple-hits stack marker. After that I just jumped off the edge and left to either do it with players so that healing might matter, or just fully switch over to dps and do the rest on picto.

I wonder if they considered at all that a healer may want to do some required healing to actually feel like they're useful to the party. You could just not use any skills the entire fight and all the npc party would be missing is your negligible healer damage.

I'm starting to believe SE view healer as people whose two brain cells fight for the third place of the podium. Too dumb to understand what to do so we just get one skill to spam : Stone/Glare.

Square enix view healer players as baby crying type of players.. because how healers flaming in storm blood that healer is hard.
Just to let you know we are suffering from our predecessor who thought that healer was hard now we see semi jobs that have 90% identical kit running with trusts and and not using other that dots and glare

What predecessors? The changes made were to appeal to people that didn't even play healers to begin with, which has been the problem with healer design for awhile now. The single most divisive skill healer ever had was Cleric Stance and that got effectively removed in SB when it became just a CD that buffed your DPS by instead of the whole INT/MND swap. Everything after that point was unnecessary pandering to people that never enjoyed the role to begin with.

I noticed this as well and it was frankly jarring how powerful Alphinaud was as a healer.

Everytime any bit of damage went out he’d heal it to full before I had a chance to blink lol.

It’s a shame because I like running with trusts to gauge how ‘ready’ I am to do the content normally, but with the trials I never had any kind of chance to test myself or try things out as a healer. It was a weird experience lol

Unfortunately the needs of healers have long been ignored by square enix.

I thought this was gonna complain about the fact that (most) healer duties don't actually put your NPC party members in your party, which makes healing them a pain in the ass, especially on controller.
