Lighting update absolutely ruined the Marble Flooring

The marbling effect seems to be more so tied to the lighting for some reason. Where if you have lower lighting the marbling almost becomes invisible. Previously I used a much darker room setting and it still looked nice.

It looks so much worse now and you basically can't have lower lighting levels.

Graphics update needs to be optional settings for Self, Others, Outdoors, Indoors. I might quit the game because i'm a housing designer who has had the majority of their builds absolutely ruined and destroyed by this update. To add insult to injury, my Miqo'te got botched plastic surgery to her face and they think a free fantasia will fix it. I'm ready to just up and leave if these issues aren't addressed. Everything was just fine and perfect before and now everything sucks. Even massive FPS drops to players who once had 60fps in a build and now they have 15. Very saddening and depressing. Starting to wish I hadn't ever started playing this game if this is how it's going to end for me. Betrayed by the Devs that I had faith would never betray me. </3

i had big fps drops in my house too, after turning off some light reflection and shadows it went smooth again

The white marble and iron plate floor are similarly affected. They both look like dull, dirty cardboard now.

Sadly the 7.05 update didn't do anything to fix this issue in my builds.

White marble and iron plate floors still look like dull cardboard, with no shine or the reflective quality they used to have.

Glade flooring used to show subtle reflections of wall mounted objects and such, which is also still gone since 7.0.

Have you tried adjusting your individual graphics settings in System Configuration? Not a guarantee it will take things back to how they used to look but worth a try.

Yes, all of them over the last few weeks. There is no setting I can find that adds shine or reflection back to where it is now missing from metallic furnishings or metallic and marble floors.

I do play play on PS5, which has minimal setting adjustments available. However, this same issue has been reported in other threads by people under various PC settings, and not just on flooring. It also affects metallic objects like the Gaol partition, which now appears flat rather than metallic.

In addition, areas outside of player housing don't appear to have any problems with material textures on my PS5 setup. Metallic and marble textures look as I would expect them to. So I'm not sure what I could possibly adjust that would only fix house furnishing when everything else in the game doesn't display the problem.
